Does anyone see vandy going after him? He could stay in the sec and get a shot at beating uga every year. Or would taking a job at vandy be unthinkable?<div>Just seems like a real possibility. That is, if, they don't retain Caldwell.</div>

but, looking like Ritch, if fired will be considered "slight damaged" goods.
10 years in at Georgia, and sort of spiraling down.
Lots' of resources to work with.

He's won over the years because he has superior talent. Now that things are evening out, his true colors are showing. He'd be an upgrade at many schools, actually the way Mullen has coached he'd probably be an upgrade at MSU, although I think if Mullen stops out thinking himself he will be a better coach.

remember when he ran the ball at the end of a game with no timeouts, ensuring they did not get another chance to try to score and win?

He's been underwhelming at UGA.

until the last 2 years Richt was one of the best coaches in the conference. For whatever reason, he's lost something..it happens.

He's gotten superior talent over the years, and has taken advantage of it. I think if you put him at OM his tenure would be akin to David Cutcliffe's.

By way of example, give Saban that UGA team this year and there is no way they are 1-3.Some coaches are better than others. Richt is not a great coach (hopefully that'seasier for you to understand).

I know he has a good record and wins, but I think UGA should be a premier school, top 5 every year. And he's just not doing that. I just think UGA should be better. If he's so awesome, why's he on the hot seat?

year run as good as most anybody (he only lacks winning a national champion). <div>
</div><div>The previous two UGa coaches achieved nothing close to what he did. He's on the hot seat because he's dropped off since 2008....as I acknowledged in the post above. He can only afford 1 more loss this year to keep his job. 8-4 with a win over Aub or UF = save his job. </div>

I didn't remember you being a moron. Obviously, Mullen has a long way to go to have the career that Richt and Nutt have had and may never get there, but Richt and Nutt are both the same: once good to very good coaches, theysimply lost a step some where along the way.

Mullen may plateau as a coach, but with where everybody is right now,I'd bet on Mullen being on the risefaster than I'd bet on Nutt or Richtturning it around. Mullen did just beat Richt despite inferior talent, although withhome field advantage, same as he did to Nutt last year.

That's really all I was saying. Y'all are awfully pissy over here today after a win.

Do you have something against me personally, or do you disagree substantively with something I've said. Do you think Richt is on the level of Saban and Meyer? Do you think he's measurably better than Nutt given their relative recruiting bases over the last 10 years? Do you think he's a great coach? If so, why have his teams disappointed the last few years? (apart from that one year where they had a rash of injuries) You've added nothing to the conversation, but I invite you to.

Most coaches win with superior talent

That's all you really need to know. That's why coaches flock to bigger schools with a lot of money, because they can more easily attract good players. Have to prove your ability to develop a team and have success waaaaaaaay before you get an opportunity for a big gig. There's a reason Nutt hasn't been able to land all these jobs he's tried to get the last few years - he's got flaws on his coaching resume.

Richt isn't operating on the level of Saban and Meyer right now, and he may not be quite as good as them, but who is? Not many. Maybe Carroll or Brian Kelly (yet to be seen).

Your statement that Nutt is better than Mark Richt is laughable. All coaches have tough times in their career. As I stated earlier today, Georgia may not be all that bad. Let's wait til the season ends before we really use such bold statements and judgements. If you don't, by all means, keep doing what you're doing now, you seem like you're just trying to convince yourself of something that is not there.

There it is in a nutshell, o ye of little football experience.

That's where your maroon colored glasses got in the way. Richt and Nutt are both good but not great coaches. If you got pissed because I said Richt is better than Mullen then you just need to look at things more objectively. I'm not downgrading Mullen, I've said here many times that he has potential but he's not handled the HC duties as well as one would like. Give him another couple years and I think he'll realize that to win in the SEC you need to run the ball consistently, and that cutesie plays don't win games on the whole. Everyone knows who Nutt is -- a solid coach, not a genius, will lose a game and win a game that he shouldn't. Frankly, that describes most coaches though, outside of the elite.

not gonna work. I answered your question, and you are backtracking, making strawman arguments. I never said anything about Mullen.
