If Saban leaves Alabama

Mississippi State has one of the best chances it has had since 1999 to win the SECW. Quick Breakdown

Alabama- No more Saban, Still have loads of talent, but losing a head coach like Saban will surely guarantee they take a few steps back. McCaron Gone too.

Auburn- More than likely the the preseason SEC favorite next season. Came within 1 play of beating them this year on the plains, and think we can we the game next year in Starkville. Would be pretty awesome to knock off a top 3 team at home, as well.

Arkansas- Still rebuilding

LSU- Lose Mettenberger, and more than likely several other underclassmen from a team that was middle of the pack in the west

A & M- Johnny Football more than likely gone. Their D was awful this year. Will be interesting to Sumlin's offense without JFF.

Ole Miss- They will improve, but Freeze seems like he has been exposed a little bit. Will be a tough game in Oxford, but winnable

Not saying we will go undefeated in the west, but the landscape may be even enough to where a 2-3 loss team could go to ATL next year. Saban gone or not, next football season is going to be really exciting for the Bulldogs.

Go State....Go State. I'll say this, I think we have a good chance to compete well next year. No predictions of any titles though.

Vandy loses their 2 best offensive players (Carta-Samuels and Jordon Matthews) along with 3 other offensive starters, and 7 defensive starters (based on the bowl game depth chart).

Even though we don't play UGA or USC, both their starting QB's are gone. USC won't see much difference going from Shaw to Dylan Thompson considering how much he has played already. After looking at USC, they are going to be really good next year- only 2 seniors on offense, and 2 seniors (and Clowney) on defense.

Yeah im not predicting a west title next year either, but I am just saying that we have as good of a chance as we have had in years.

Next year sets up just like 2012 as far as winnable games. It's just not set up to start off 7-0. If I had to guess right now - we should be 9-3. I think we beat A&M, Kentucky, Arkansas, Ole Miss, Vandy. It's crazy b/c 10-2 is definitive possibility.

The USA game is starting to scare me for next year. They went 6-6 with 5 really close loses. I'm thinking Troy 2012 all over again

Really, really hope we get to play USCe ...

Because it means we will be in Atlanta, playing for the SEC Championship and a berth in the NC tournament

These kind of games are usually on a danger if your team has a weak defense. I think MSU's defense will be strong.

Also keep in mind that we played Troy at Troy. Please tell me we don't have another road game against the Sun Belt.

Yeah, that worries me too. Especially the close loss to Troy. And how bout that close loss to Southern Utah. **

STATE is "Always going to be better next year"*****
I have to admit I'm pretty wooly about what can be next year.

Thing is, we can finish the regular season 9-3, and 70% of this board will still gripe and moan about how we still didn't beat Alabama/Auburn/LSU. I know that I'll be happy to take 9 wins with the opportunity for 10 in a respectable bowl like the Cotton or Gator.

Just curious DS, if Mullen hits your 10-2 "definitive possibility"......do u think a 2013 pay snub gives him "incentive" to test the h2o?.... Gotta ask.

I never gave an answer on his pay but I would give him a 100K raise and put 500K towards assistant salaries.

If he does go 10-2 and he wants to leave - more power to him even if we didn't give him a raise this year.
