the bagman get to keep his mouth shut?

I still think this whole Newton deal ends up going away with all us MSU fans being very disappointed!

I was talking to some buddies this weekend(who have no inside sources), and they claim that Bo was the bagman.

I am a State man, but I am so incredibly tired of hearing MSU fans whine about Newton picking Auburn over us. Give it a friggen rest.

screw you. I don't mind a kid picking Auburn over us. That is not the issue here. What I mind is a team swooping in at the last minute and paying $200,000 for the best player in the nation who was coming to State. Then proceeding to win the national championship with that player surrounded by arguably less talent than he would have had at State.

Don't get me wrong, last year was awesome. I was proud of our team and proud of what the people who came to MSU accomplished. But !$*% Auburn right in the ***. I will celebrate the day the NCAA comes and destroys that team. And I definitely, DEFINITELY want that season, the title and the Heisman stripped because of the cheating. This has nothing to do with Newton "picking" Auburn over us. It's about another SEC team cheating and how that cheating hurt our team.

Plus, just to add for the giggles of it, the title was pretty obviously about Newton. If you are that tired of it, don't click on the damn post.

Furthermore, if the man had wanted to come to MSU, he would have. Is it possible that he looked at Auburn's history, looked at ours, saw our 5-7 record at the time and merely opted out? Even if Auburn paid the dude, can WE claim THEIR NC? At the end of the day, does any of it really matter if they get it taken away or not?

We already know that his handlers steered him away from State due to our failure to play ball. No request for money from his dad, and he's playing ball in Starkville. End of story.

And it does matter ifthose accoladesgets taken away. The next time we're chasing a high profile player with ties to our coaching staff and handlers with questionable morals, I want every other school to know that if they conclude negotiations with the guy, we'll dump every shred of evidence we can in the NCAA's lap, and the odds are good they'll pay dearly for any success he brings them.

and then having the culprits laugh all the way to the bank. From a metaphorical standpoint, that's exactly what the Newtons, Auburn, and the SEC did to us. I can't speak for all MSU fans but if there is even a shred of hope that I'll be able to watch them all burn for it one day, I'm interested.

stop being a *****. give msu cam newton and we have a damn good shot at being auburn last season. hell, having auburn buy cam out from under us last minute might be as close as msu ever gets to winning a national title in CFB. especially if msu takes your approach of keeping your mouth shut so that the sec and ncaa can quietly let the $camdal fade from thenationalconsciousness without ever pushing auburn. sometimes you stand up for yourself and i for one am glad we didn't completely roll over for the "good of the conference".

If Cam *had* come to MSU we would have most likely gone at least 10-2 last season. We're looking at a BCS bowl invite after having knocked off everyone on our schedule except Bama and LSU. How many millions did Cecil Newton cost our school? How much prestige did he cost the football program?

If an Auburn booster can be shown to have paid Cecil for Cam's signature, I hope the NCAA obliterates that 17ing program and the only thing left on the plains is a smoking crater.

They also were barely able to beat a ****** Northwestern team in a bowl game (mostly due to their own stupid mistakes... like trying to spike the ball over the goal post while they aren't winning). They went 5-7 (2-6) the year before that, so I imagine the previous year's record wasn't the issue there. Try again.<div>
</div><div>*EDIT we also went 5-7 playing by far the toughest schedule in the SEC and in the country (with two of our OOC opponents being ranked). </div>

Anonomous posters on free interweb message boards pissing and moaning isn't going to get **** done. It'll take the NCAA getting off their lethargic asses and/or the feds turning over to said lethargic NCAA any actual evidence they possess, which won't happen until the Feds have concluded their bribery/corruption cases. In other words it'll probably be awhile.

It does piss me off that a team can cheat and achieve the greatness they did and yesI want to see they day when they have to give all those trophies up. That day will come, maybe later than sooner but it will come.

And on that dayI propose all good SPSers gather in the Vet school parking lot and with cowbells in hand tocelebrate. We'll ring, sing, dance and do the frikin DPR until we pass out from sheer exhaustion. Our day will come though and I'm looking forward to it.

Until then I'll just lay low and let things take their course.

I'm not throwing in the towel yet.
