If Stricklin pulls the trigger, it will not be until after our last loss... which could come as

early as this week... but don't expect him to do anything but support Bury until the season is completely over. As bad of a season as this was, there is no reason to pull the trigger now... and Scott would be stupid to do it. <div>
</div><div>Also, this does mean I want Stans gone.... just don't expect an announcement tomorrow morning. </div>

to warrant being gone before postseason play. No reason to not give him the rest of the year to bring closure to the season.

I would consider takingarguably the most talented team in Mississippi State history to the NIT as something warranted of being fired over.

after we lose in the NIT?? It wouldn't do jack ****. Some of you need to calm the 17 down... I want Bury gone, but why the 17 would you fire him now as opposed to after the NIT??

Stricklin has (or shortly will) be sending out feelers for interest in the job if he is going to fire Bury, anyway, and the decision has probably already been made... but give me some reasonable answers as to why making a statement saying he is fired tonight and not letting him coach the NIT (which most agree here that we will not give a ****) would be any more beneficial than waiting until after the NIT... and don't give me ******** like "he's terrible" or "he's a sucky floor coach..." I want realistic answers. I'll hang up and listen.

Why do you fire a coach before the bowl game? Because they did not live up to realistic expectation. We have not been dancing in 3 years and he got lucky in 2009 because to me a run in a conference tournament is player driven not coach. He still does not know how to attack a 2-3 zone. How many transfers have we had leading to poor depth? I do see what your saying and your probably right it would not help, but to put up with us losing to inferior competition in and outside of our conference is ridiculous.

jump up and fire one of his subordinates before the final horn has sounded on the season. You just don't do that and anyone that thinks otherwise is irrational. He definitely needs to do it soon, but I'm somewhat concerned that it may not happen.

won't do a damn thing to change that. Even if we win the NIT, I would be shocked if a decision on Stansbury's fate is already made. Although our program suffered a meltdown, we aren't the first to meltdown after a good start to the season, and probably won't be the last. Bury didn't do anythingdetrimentaloutside bad coaching and not being motivated to warrant him being gone right now, so why pull the trigger before the NIT? It makes no sense... Stansbury has done enough for us to warrant him finishing out the season.

would the AD fire him even after winning the NIT? I have no belief that this would happen bit it would bs very fitting considering our season. It's bad enough to fire a guy but doing it after winning even a crappy tournament would make it more difficult.

That would be our luck. Win the NIT and Rick get a pass.

Because I don't think we'll put forth any effort in the NIT, plus somewhere in the tournament we'd run into a team that played a zone defense against us, which would be an auto loss.

However, like you said, it would be fitting if this group pulled it together and won the NIT. I think that'd make me more angry than if they just lost in the first round.

If stansbury was to retire, it would be nice to give him a farewell tour (nit). I think we should wait but I think that is a scenario we could make work.

What difference does is make if he "resigns" (he won't be fired) tonight or later this week, or in a couple of weeks?
