does that decrease our chances of adding aTm, or does this not affect their decision at all....personally, i see it decreasing our chances but that may just be me

On the flip side of this, If texas doesn indeed leave the conference, I see that only increasing our chances at adding aTm. Your thoughts?

If Texas can keep the other 8 schools on board, A&M is going to have to go along.

If Texas iskeeping the Big 12 together, it's only because they got A&M to agree to stay. Guaranteed if A&M comes to the SEC, Texas will take their group to the Pac 16 and the rest will be scrambling to get in the MWC.

Hell, Texas would still rather take A&M and the others to the Pac than salvage the Big 12.

If i were in aTm shoes and T was trying to orchastrat this entire thing, i believe that I would send T a big FU and tell them where they could go....I equate this to being the same situation as if ole miss were to be doing the same thing and were trying to get us to go along with it only to help themselves out....i would jump ship in a heart beat and show T the middle finger as i proudly walked out the door into a better conference...

A&M might want to give TU the finger but The SEC will quickly remove any invite if this Big 12-2 stabilizes...
We are not pulling the string to start the mega-conference (16 teams) days..we have what we want (12) Big 10 now has 12.. Pac 10 WILL have 12 before the summer is over.
and now we have a weaker conference to the west.

I see your point, but I dont think the SEC is any posistion to start inviting and then uninviting teams...if we are going to offer aTm a place in the conferenc and then take that offer back, we will only be burning bridges that arent even built yet for the future when the mega confrences do start to take form...

I completely see your point but i just dont think that if we offer aTm that we turn around and pull the offer based on what T does.....If T stays where they are i think the chances that we get aTm are greatly deminished, but I still think we leave that up to aTm.

Surely not b/c we felt sorry for them.

I think they'll take A&M if things work out. Its brings a whole new market.

Haha..A&M wants to be in the SEC bad and has for 20 years..we can Dangle the carrot over and over and snatch it back and say..just kidding and they will keep coming back.

Take it any way you want to believe..the goal was always Texas and OU.. to get to them we made a play with Tx A&M who has always wanted to be in the SEC.

We were never going to take A&M by themselves...whether that was going to be A&M and Ou..Va Tech...whoever.. it wasn't going to just be one.
Texas doesn't want to lose the Aggies...and doesnt want to come to the SEC or lost OU to the sec..so now they decided to just stay together.

Either way it's a win-win proposition for Texas A&M: They get to go to the SEC where they would feel much more comfortable OR they would have a rare and valued chance to poke Texas in the eyes and force them to stay ina revampedBig 12.

According to the Baylor Fans site, A&M apparently made a deal with Baylor saying that no matter what happen that they would always play in every sport all the time, so you've got the Aggies and Baptists versus the Teasips.

Are you saying we were going to take 4 teams and have a 16 team conference?

I believe the SEC saw a chance to take a legit school (TAM) that would have increased market share significantly. I then think Texas realized they were about to let TAM gain some serious ground on them and said hold on, let us rethink this.

I don't agree that the SEC was just toying with TAM. It doesn't make sense.

Hey TAM for ***** and giggles we'll speak to you about coming to the SEC but we aren't really serious. We are just wasting our time and dollars.........????

I can't see that happening.

I dont see that happening..we are not going to start the first Power Mega Conference

but doesn't it make sense to talk about things you actually know? like external factors, or history, or personal observations? no one knows anything about state legislators, secret votes, or anything. the whole idea that anyone so vastly removed from the process like your average mississippi state message board poster is absurd.

There's 81 days until kickoff, and this is the biggest topic in College Football right now. What the hell else are we gonna talk about? And since we don't know what goes on behind closed doors, we speculate, and we read tweets from supposedly inside source wielding journalists. Who gives a crap about history and external factors? Who on here has a personal observation not based on conjecture and speculation?
