If the Bears win against Auburn

the real question is: Will there be enough people there to tear down a goalpost?... would they move the goalpost to the grove so they can be torn down?

If a goalpost falls in the Grove, would it make a sound?

Everyone just needs to go ahead and accept that UM will beat Auburn this weekend, and I do not mean that as a compliment to UM.

If being a big word. I don't think they get it done this week...

Auburn won't turn the ball over enough to let them stay in it and if Auburn was going to get their offense moving against anyone its Ole Miss. I think they bang the Ole Miss QB's pretty good and keep them flustered. If Ole Miss wants to win, they better get out in front early.

I don't think they get it done either. They've been playing at or near 100%

every game (with the exception of Tulane) and after getting their hearts ripped out last weekend, I think they come out flat. It will be early in the morning, the crowd won't have enough liquor in them yet, and last week will still be on their minds. As bad as Auburn is, I think this is a game where the opponents history gets into Ole Miss's head, kinda like LSU was with us in the 90's when they were awful and State had good teams. It'll be close, but Ole Miss's defense will gas out in the 4th and give up a TD or FG to lose the game.

Like you say, if being a big word. Auburn's offense is at least as bad as anything Croom put on the field. I don't see them scoring many points on Mississippi. Only SEC game all season I'll say War Eagle, but I think UM wins this one.

Not possible to keep getting 157% productivity out of anything...

Especially an emotion driven group of 18-22 yr olds.

We all know you can only get these kids up for a few games a year. The bears blew three huge loads against TX, Bama, and A&M already this season and last 2 weeks. This game is at 11 am. Cheezit and the tiger cubs need this one to even try to save face. Bears defense is one of worst in SEC.

All these things add up to the streak continuing.

11 am game also favors the underdog, which is Auburn.....

....and considering what you've all pointed out about Ole Miss probably being down, makes this a toss up.

I would pick Auburn to win until the Arkansas game. I just don't know how good they are, Arkansas still has some good football players. Auburn showed flashes of a good running game a few times as well. They might have a chance to further toss salt in the rebels' wounds.

I think they should do it

To put it into perspective, little Derhntr will have his 2nd birthday next week. He has lived his entire life without witnessing an OM win over an SEC opponent.

Y'all know I hate UM, snicker, but they win this one. This is UM last year pre-Nutt announcement (the Bears) playing UM last year post-Nutt announcement(The Tigers). Auburn looks to be mailing it in. I won't be shocked if I'm wrong though. UM found out last week that Freeze ain't the second coming of Vaught. The reaction to that will be interesting.

I think UM wins by 7 or more. Auburn won't stop them from scoring a decent amount. And Auburn couldn't score much on Starkville HS. UM will have to give them some points on special teams or turnovers for Auburn to have a chance.

Agree.

It's a toss up.

Should be a great game. It's funny to observe the psychology of a rivalry. The "history says OM is a **** team, therefore they are a **** team" logic has changed now. Now that folks realize they are actually competitive, you see more acknowledgment that they actually may win an SEC game. You will now see a lot of fans go ahead and talk Auburn down so much that they have a back pocket defense if OM fans get to crow about finally winning.

Auburn sucks, but honestly any outcome wouldn't surprise me. It could be a close game or blowout either way. Anything can happen when you have a team high on talent but low on coaching (AU) playing against a team building its confidence but still learning how to win (OM).

They will not tear down the goal posts. They'll just...

..get all their media & propaganda ducks in a row & loudly announce, "WE'RE BACK!" Obviously, tearing down the goal posts would be far less obnoxious.

I think people are talking Auburn down because they got blown the 17 out at home to a team that looked like it might not come with 20 points of winning an SEC game this year the week before. Assuming UM beats Auburn (which I think they will), the fact Auburn sucks doesn't mean that UM is not an improved team this year.

You are a filthy ***** for speaking positive of Ole Miss. And absolutely horrible person who should be spat upon. How dare you even utter the words "they win this one"? No REAL MSU fan would ever concede that Ole Miss can win. You aren't a REAL MSU fan because you aren't following the arbitrary rules I set for being a REAL MSU fan. I'm horrified and stunned that you would even speak in a semi-reasonably positive way about Ole Miss. So much so I plan to **** my own pants, slap DS on the ***, and run to Gene's page for consolation. Good day sir, and may God have mercy on your soul!

As much as I am going to miss the "ball girl," I really like hula hoop girl. Good find.

I do think UM wins just because of the way each team is carrying itself now.

BUT the Auburn that shows up in oxford could be the one that played Clemson or the one that played LSU. If so, it will be a close game. STILL think UM wins.

If the auburn from any other week on their schedule shows up, they get the **** pounded out of them.

One thing UM has to watch for: Auburn will be ready for the hurry up spread offense. If UM cannot move the ball conventionally...by winning the line of scrimmage, this game will be closer than they'd like.

I think there will be fewer opportunities to turn the game around this week in Oxford. Therefore, whomever gets the first 2 score lead, wins the game.

Where our game Vs. UT is strength on strength. I think UM's game with AU is weakness on weakness. AU' s secondary is terrible and is atrocious against the pass. But UM has an equally terrible rush defense. AU will try to run the ball and slow the game down tremendously where UM is going to speed it up. Nothing against the bears but it's always been the best formula to run the ball & slow the game down. It's less room for error as opposed to passing the ball. Give me AU in a close one. UM will turn the ball over and besides AU will be playing for Chizik's job. Freeze's job is safe........for now.
