Lamar Jackson he must still be standing on the sideline somewhere. He hits James Quick with a 70 plus yard TD pass on their first series, then hits another receiver with a 60 yard plus pass.. then walks in with a TD on the next play. He has accounted for 10 TD's already this season..I despise everything about UL but I have to give this kid his props..he is a player..

Probably the best offensive player in the country. We all knew he had blazing speed and was s great runner. Now it appears that he has become an adequate passer. It helps to have all day to pick out a receiver and throw it. Credit Bobby Pertrino.

It is amazing to watch. Some guys can't hit those passes in a walk-they with no defense.

Will uofl have any defensive players left after this game. They have had about 10 players go down.

Loved the excitement of the hurdle. But the Syracuse player showed why that needs to be a penelty like in high school. Very dangerous play

He looks an awful lot like Cam Newton. Or Tebow with arm talent.

He's a rare bird.
Tebow and Newton were more power players. Lamar is a heck of a talent but no where similar to style of player jackson is

Lamar is putting up crazy numbers. He is gonna be special. But wow, Syracuse has been awful on defense tonight. Even the non-Lamar Jackson plays have gone for a bunch.

Reminds me of Newton a bit too. Still too early to say hes just like them. Lets see him do this against real competition.

Syracuse is the least talented team in the acc. No one has recruited worse in the last five years. If Lamar puts up those numbers against a good defense I will give him credit. Right now he's just a fast kid that hasn't been challenged. Running over twenty times in a game? Kid is 190lb soaking wet. He's going to get killed. When he starts getting smacked around and gets up and makes those plays with his feet let me know. When he makes those throws against a secondary like FSU or Clemson let me know.

This. I don't see him being able to translate this to a pro-career as effectively as Cam Newton. Newton was always built like a horse that could run. Jackson is a ridiculous athlete, but he is a bean pole, and that doesn't spell a long career from my perspective as running QB.

I don't care who they played or how bad they are they are a P5 school with D1 athletes. The kid can ball. Those numbers are good if they were playing the barber college. I wouldn't be surprised if he got an invite to NY and got quiet a few heisman votes.

Everybody plays crap teams every year but it's rare for anyone to put up numbers like that.

Lamar Jackson may be the best qb in all of college football. I hate UofL with every fiber of my being, but they are damn good. We should've picked Petrino. I'm sick of losing.

lets see him do it in the SEC....

He did torch two SEC teams back to back at the end of last year.

Next week will obviously tell a lot. He's become a much better passer so far this year, but his passing obviously doesn't match his running at this point (not sure it ever can).

He is a star. No doubt.

His pocket passing has improved, but many of the big yard passes were to WRs who had no one around them. I know they have outstanding athleticism at WR, but am not sure how much of that was due to the Cuse backfield. Trying to contain Lamar will open up the throwing game, but I want to see how he throws to a defense that has more talent.

He's an outstanding player, kudos to Lamar Thomas for finding him.

Still a lot of season left to play though, a lot can happen between now and when we play them. I'm sure teams will have adjusted to him by then.

Of course, Coach Eliot will probably game plan for Bolin.

3/4 of the SEC looked like a bucket o shat in week one. Either way, UL isn't in, isn't going to be in the SEC.....but the do play us every year. Not sure why we keep hanging our hat on the fact that we're a bad team in a normally good conference. Our woes against UL have nothing to do with us being in the SEC. They're better at recruiting, developing and coaching their players by a long shot.

Our fans try to play this card (since it's the only card we've got), but the problem with it is that UL has actually done quite well against the SEC in recent years. They destroyed Florida in that Sugar Bowl a couple years ago, they beat down Texas A & M in last year's bowl, and of course they kick our *** every year.

The idea that the UL would be flummoxed by SEC competition ain't supported by the actual evidence on the field.

Totally agree, and this is one of the reasons I'm not totally ready to proclaim total greatness yet. The passing windows are definitely going to close a bit this week. The question is has Jacksom improved enough to A) fit them in those windows and B) recognize beforehand when he can't.

He did throw for 307 yards and 3 TDs against FSU last year.

I think RGIII might be a better comparison then Tebow and Newton as a college player.

Those are the questions. There is no doubt he is much much more poised this year. UL's offense is top tiered even if he is not a consistent passer. But, if he can be good in the pocket, he could make that offense as good as any.
