Even if Garrett goes to MSU and has a year to learn the system, I think Russell will beat him out. Garrett will not have any experience in gametime since high school with only spring practices and practice squad reps. That can only take him so far. Hopefully, Mullen will get ya'll a QB in this year's recruiting that will be your future in a couple of years.

But I would probably be inclined to say Garrett. I think we probably would have grayshirted him so that he could eventually take over for Russell as a sixth year senior, assuming that he could beat out Dylan Favre and whoever else we get. Tyler is simply better.

I think Patterson would still be a possession WR or maybe be bulked up into a TE. He actually probably would have done better with us simply because we need more WR's for our offense vs Nutt's. I still don't think he would have been a huge difference maker, and I highly doubt that he would have beaten out Brandon McRae.
