which is very good by college basketball standards, but in the lower half of BCS schools...
We are going to have to hire a top assistant or a mid-major guy. We may get the next Tubby, Donovan, Pearl, Stallings...or we may not. But if the next coach that comes in, plays the schedule that The Recruiter has for years, and recruits the way our school recruits, I can absolutely assure you we will do no worse than he has done. And an upgrade is probable.

so we could easily find someone- but you are right- too much buyout right now for us to rid ourselves of him. But you have to wonder how much lost revenue we will have with less people buying season tickets and fewer donations because of the state of the program. Next season may indeed be the last

I kind of thought he got the shaft from Bama. He had some really good teams over there at one time and led them to a No. 1 ranking at one point i believe. He knows the area and knows how to recruit in the SEC.Thoughts?</p>

Thoughts? I would hope we are past the point of hiring Alabama rejects. Look back at Gottfried's last 2-3 years at Bama and you will see why we should have no interest in him. Not to mention that he used to be public enemy number one to MSU basketball.
