The governor of Georgia (and other states) is doing the right thing, except for thing- it shouldn't be next week.

It should be directly.

Good for Georgia. Now Kentucky can watch them and see what happens.
We already have. South Dakota. Nothing much happened.

And now we can watch Missouri, Texas, Oklahoma, and even blue (actually, purple state) Colorado and many others and soon Ohio and thank God. Nothing much will happen.

Sweden and Belarus are my favorite countries in Europe these days. I also give props to most of Africa

Andy dandy botched testing. Can’t open up until we can test. Tennessee has one of the best testing operations in the nation. They have fewer deaths than us and have tested 4 x as many people. He looks so dumb now... bashing Tennessee. Turns out bill lee spent his time developing a great testing program instead of lecturing people.

That ought to give him plenty of time to come up with a plan for pensions. Surely he can handle two things at once.

Based on reporting yesterday:

  • Nursing home new cases made up 37% of yesterday’s new cases; they have been averaging around 30% for the past 4 days meaning the number of new cases in the general public is going down.
  • Nursing home cases make up 22% of the total cases in Kentucky or 781 of the 3481
  • Nursing home cases account for 45% of the deaths in Kentucky or 86 of the 191
  • Our infection rate has been going down the past three days based on the new amount of testing they are doing from 10% to 8% yesterday
  • We still have about 300 people in the hospital (but I am sure that means enormous capacity in all hospitals) and 163 in ICU but that is down from a high around 4/17 of 477 and 333.

Open the damn state.

My question would be... How in the world did we suddenly do 4,600 tests in one day?

We can't open up until we know who has it. We aren't testing people who have symptoms in our major metro areas. This new "kroger" testing is a joke. They only have 200 tests per day at the locations and only have it select cities.

Tennessee had testing in 33 locations last weekend for anybody who wanted a test. And you didn't have to sign up.

Tennessee can open up because they've built the testing capacity to be able to trace who has it. Kentucky can't.

We've had more deaths than Tennessee but somehow have fewer cases? ********. They've tested 4x as many people and only have about double the cases.

we can't test Nursing home workers for gods sake.

^Yep, Kentucky's testing has been ****. Just now starting to increase.

Good thing we gave the newly opened medical professionals all of 3 days to prepare for open. So now they have the weekend to try and secure face shields, masks, gowns, gloves, sanitizers, and develop plans for controlling customer traffic. All while having to convince employees on UE to come back and work in a medical office during a pandemic. Many of whom still haven't received PPP loans to help support payroll and rent.

^This is why I'm so pissed this guidance was distributed 2-3 weeks ago. It's absolutely ridiculous.

The whole 3 day warning for opening is further proof Andy has no plan in place. He was proactive shutting the state down, but we have lagged in everything else.

Yes, we can.

Yes, we can.

No we can't and not we can't.

Nursing home operators are begging the state to allow them to test all employees and residents and the state is telling them that they can only test if they have symptoms or a widepsread outbreak.

I'm betting there's more to the story here, but it's been apparent for some time that the Democratic party of FDR and JFK is dead.

Stay in your basement, then, but the state is more than ready to begin to unlock the doors.

Did you suddenly find lost tests? I’m all for reopening and think we have a small enough # of cases to reopen. But if we are going to reopen we have to be able to contact trace and Kentucky doesn’t have close to enough tests to do that right now

....and we may never have enough to suit Andy, or Mayor Gorton, who as recently as Tuesday stated they were just now getting a draft together to open up Lex. Complete incompetence from both of them....they are way out of their league.

The poster above is correct. Nursing home employees and patients have to have enough of the symptoms to warrant a test. Most ridiculous thing I’ve seen during this whole mess.

His handling of this is beyond terrible. The best thing he did was hire a really good social media team to keep sheep distracted with lights and sign language.

That will all change once surrounding states reopen while we're all still losing everything.

Watching Indiana’s briefing. Stark contrast to Ky’s. Data discussed right up front. No chants or bell ringing. And they have been hammered with cases and deaths. Questions being asked can actually be heard. Impressive.

Well...is Indiana's governor in line for his own bobble head like Mike DeWine and Daddy Andy!?!?!? If not he really should work on his shutdown and pandemic theatrics.
