And you show up at a restaurant where a high school recruit is choosing a college hat, then you need to seriously take a look at your life.

if you think its normal and rational for a grown man who's not related to be there, then I don't know what else to tell you. You are in the tiny and sad minority on this one.

Then by that logic, grown people should have no business going to crootin parties, pep rallies, or July extravaganzas. Hell, why are those dorks even going to football games to drool over the athletic achievements of those poor, mistreated 18-21 year old boys?

that if you're a grown man and you're paying some recruiting site for "inside" information, spending any significant time researching potential recruits, and hanging on their every word or hint as to what school they might choose, then you need to seriously take a look at your life.

And no, JulesWinfield, that is not the same as going to a school signing day party or summer extravaganza.

Am I going to anything like that? No<div>
</div><div>Do I think its normal behavior for a grown man with no relation to go? No really.</div><div>
</div><div>I was just mocking your inclination to make your view known. What does it matter to you if someone wants to go? Does it change anything in your life if someone lives in the area, is a fan and thinks it would something worth while to see goes? That's a no also.</div><div>
</div><div>You're just passing judgement to pass judgement. Who gives a **** if someone wants to go. Who are you to judge?</div><div>

..socially justifiable to begin following an athlete's path to the field on Saturdays?

you don't read any of the recruiting threads on here? None of the recruiting stories like Locke and Marcello have above on their blogs?

Or is second hand information OK with you and BillBraskyDOG?

I should probably not invite him to meet me behind the vet school and tell him that I'll be the one in the blue jacked up 89 Ford F-100 with bull nuts hanging from the bumper?

Too many players with all the hype in the world never really produce and too many players come out of nowhere to be good solid players for me to get worked up over recruiting. Hell, I just realized yesterday that Liggins has only THREE stars on both Rivals and Scout. Seriously, all this hype from you star watchers over a three star recruit???

..if you are a 55 yr. old white, fat, bald guy who shows up @ the NFL draft to praise or boo your NFL team's first draft choice, then to every 40 yr. old virgin in the world, to everybody who attends a Star Trek convention in the word, & to everybody who goes to work with a slide ruler & ink stains in their shirt pocket...you owe an apology.

He's a QB. We have 2 scholarship QBs on the roster and he's really the only prospect left with a huge question mark. Of course he's going to be the topic of conversation on a MSU board.

And I honestly think we're about as well off with Schuessler as we would be with Liggins if we get down to our #3 QB this fall anyway. And it's not just our fans hyping him, the Bears fans are too even though they already have a dozen QBs on their roster. It just seems extremely overblown to me.

I'm not sure why we're trying to "outcool" anybody here. The mere fact we read/post on message boards sort of proves a certain level of obsession/dork.

Having a ****** job helps too.

If there's another halfway decent option other than Schuessler that someone wants to make an argument for, I'd be fine with him too. My only point is that it's borderline retarded to think we can afford to go into this fall with only 2 scholarship QBs. We'll see what direction Mullen goes in. But I'll be very disappointed if he takes the advice of some on this board.</p>
