Someone asked him yesterday...
during his interview with the Nashville readio station "how does $6k compare to other offers kids get to attend schoold?". He replied "this is the only case I've ever heard of."
Not kidding.
Of course he completely contradicted himself a few seconds later when he said an unnamed "BCS school" offered Redmond $60k. ...and he contradicted himself again when he said players have come to him many times about accepting money and he always strongly urged them not to.
Someone also asked him what he gets in return for "mentoring" these kids. He did not answer the question.
The best was when someone claiming to be a local HS basketball coach called in and said "People want to know what's wrong with college athletics......YOU and people like you are what's wrong with college athletics." His reply was "I 'preciate that, I 'preciate that."
