Treadwell or Wilson?

Apologies in advance to Bear's uncle... I'm curious what the responses are. Both guys possess much the same traits. What do you think?

Wilson all day long. He's ours and has done everything asked of him

in this offense. Don't know why you'd even hypothetically trade him.

I was gonna say Bear, too. I was just curious what people thought. Dude is a team player and every bit as physical and talented as treadwell. He is a smidge slower, but show me a clip where treadwell levels a safety to help on a run play... Because you won't find one.

Wilson has more speed and more upside, he is raw still but getting better fast.

Treadwell will probably be a TE type guy in the NFL that will be a nightmare for Linebackers and Strong Safety's.

That's a tough one but Treadwell is a beast. I choose Wilson b/c he's at State. If Treadwell was at State, I would choose treadwell. wilson's blocking is becoming very very vital.

Both have a chance to be 1st round picks when they leave college. I'll take Bear since I'm a homer, but both are really really good.

Treadwell is a beast. But Wilson is taller and faster. He wasn't as mature of a receiver when he came in as Treadwell was, but I like his upside better. Can't go wrong with either of them though.

I'll answer that with a question - when has Treadwell has outplayed Bear this year?

That's no knock on Treadwell either, he is damn good. But I just don't see any difference in the two other then Bear has much, much better potential.

Agree, it's a tough problem ...

That's a tough one but Treadwell is a beast. I choose Wilson b/c he's at State. If Treadwell was at State, I would choose treadwell. wilson's blocking is becoming very very vital.

Treadwell came in as more of a developed WR and has 25 catches for 362 yards; has 4 TDs and averages 14.5 ypc. He accounts for 20+% of OM catches. (25 of 122) He is a much bigger part of the OM offense than Bear is of MSU's. OM is pass first - run second and they only have 715 yards rushing. Stop their passing and you stop OM.

But, even though that Bear only makes up 16% of MSU's catches (14 of 89), he has more TDs (5) and greater ypc 17.6 than Treadwell. As mentioned, His blocking has been and will continue to be huge for MSU. Bear came in and is improving each and every game. At an athletic 6-5, 225, he has more 'upside' as a post up WR.

Even though State runs a somewhat 'balanced run first - pass second' offense (MSU has 1363 yards rushing & 1346 yards passing), and Dak only has 89 passes, MSU has more passing TDs (15) than OM (14) and MSU (15.1) averages more ypc than OM (13.1).

BOTTOM LINE - Treadwell is more valuable to OM due to their 'pass first' offense. Bear has more upside as the State 'go-to' end zone threat and will improve every game.

Bear is a legitimate first round draft pick. He's got the size, strength, great hands and is a great downfield blocker. Wouldn't trade him for anyone.

Treadwell is a gd receiver but bear is a bit more physical and a willing blocker.I saw Treadwell in the bama game where he couldve made some key blocks.

I'm gonna be wishing I was Bear's relative in a year or so. You have any more nephew's out there? Love his work ethic.

I've been very impressed with Bear's blocking. Really with most all of our receivers blocking. You don't spring the really long runs without receivers who are willing to block.

Treadwell is one of the best blocking WR in the country. I don't blame ya'll

for wanting "your guy." I'd love to have him at Ole Miss. He's very good, and might end up being great. However, you are very uninformed if you think Treadwell isn't a great blocker. He's already had several de-cleaters this year (against Memphis in particular on a recovered fumble by Sanders, who reversed field). Here's a video ESPN compiled of his blocking as a freshman, since you asked for one.

(Before I get the whole "to the rescue!" routine, you're the one who asked for the video.)

I love Bear. He is a monster receiver/blocker. One of my favorite players on offense.

Wilson.
I had this debate multiple times this weekend. Mostly with other State fan. One even called Treadwell the best WR in the SEC. If people are putting him above Amari Cooper, someone is feeding our fans some BS Treadwell hype.

Even though Treadwell is more polished, is it showing up on the field in anyway?

Treadwell is good and while I can't pinpoint why, to me he just looks a little smoother and a little more comfortable out there than Bear. But that said, I haven't seen him do anything that Bear hasn't done. It seems to me like they are neck and neck as far as who you would choose right now, but Bear has room to grow while Treadwell is much closer to a finished project, so it seems like a no brainer even though they are very close.

But I'm expecting both of them to be NFL receivers one day and like Dawgstudent says, if I was an Ole Miss fan I probably wouldn't trade treadwell for Bear either.
