Seriously... if you haven't read it... do so before watching this. Don't spoil it...
I watched the trailer but didn't read the book
It looks like they made it for people that have read the book. It needed to be him waking up, a little earthy backstory, and the hand on the window.YES. Loved the book. Can't wait to see how they pull all that off, but you are right - there are too many spoilers in the trailer.

It’s similar in that he sciences the shitout of it… otherwise the stories are very different.Have not watched the trailer nor read any Andy Weir books. But The Martian is one of my favorite movies of the last decade or so. For the uniformed, I presume this is a similar kind of movie? If so, will definitely need to catch that in theaters.
ok, I'm not reading the book or watching the trailer.
Listening to Any Audio Book = Reading the Physical or LCD Text
I have decided one is equivalent to the other. There are some books that are much better read manually, so as to be able to pause and reflect, but I have decided this fact does not negate the equivalence.
Thus it is so.
To me there is no difference. I will say that the right narrator though can really elevate a story. Ray Porter, the guy who narrates P:HM, is an absolute gem, as is RC Bray who narrated The Martian. Unfortunately, the latter is no longer available to purchase and has been replaced by Wil Wheaton who is a bit of a turd.
