I have sleep apnea too but couldn't get it connected..
I am sorry to hear that.

The way the Navy treats sleep apnea is about as random as it can get. The medical side of the house seems to be of the thought that a Sailor can serve with sleep apnea with a cpap. But, a command can deny your orders due to sleep apnea. At the end of my last tour I lost four different sets of orders because each command reject me with sleep apnea.

I finally gave up. This was 1999 to 2000. Even went through two med boards.

It is my understanding that the policy is still in place but the number of commands that will not take you has reduced. Still a crap shoot though.

Served my country playing 4 years of high school football.

Bullitt Co
Jefferson Co
Shelby Co.
Larue Co.
Nelson Co.
Mercer Co.

And many other Kentucky counties that I can't remember, or disclose due to those locations being classified.

Due to the nature of my job in Afghanistan, I actually slept IN the burn pits over there.

It's been years and took, more or less, a class-action lawsuit just to get the military to admit that maybe, just maybe, all those people who breathed that **** in for days at a time and end up having cancer is probably their fault.

So... good luck!
