you may think this is good but nothing has been solved on the issue of the haves and have nots when it comes to scheduling. Look for more conferences to blow up because schools just do not want to play schools larger than them in terms of enrollment or player numbers. it does no one any good for Mt. Carmel to be playing Leo or for Maine South to be playing Niles North.

It does no one any good for Joliet Centrals Freshman team to drive down to Edwardsville for a game either.

exactly. Something needs to change, what I am not sure but what I am sure about is this proposal supposedly had schools names attached to their grouping, once that happened then schools are just looking at how it effects them. For every school in a geographical / enrollment division with St. Rita and Mt. Carmel for instance then will vote a big NO!. It needs to be a criteria of enrollment, football playing numbers, success etc. and then actually draw up the divisions after it is approved. A few coaches have aid no one knows where this is going but if things do not change on a few fronts in high school football we will see conferences continuing to change, schools continuing to drive for hours and hours to find games and even schools considering dropping the sport..

The conference jumping is a Chicago and suburbs issue, not a state issue. Sure a team may travel for one game in a season but creating a regional system will require travel for about 4 or 5 games depending on the schedule.
