There's been a few clunkers but almost every game these kids play like it's their last. A lot of that must come from the staff but the players are the ones who must be willing to do it.
Pikiell told us at a Court Club meeting that he "wants players who do the things it takes no talent to do." That is easy to root for. Everything else is gravy at this point.
A subtle but effective coaching move in the 1st half. CJ was on the bench and we had the ball. Ball went out of bounds with about 5.5 seconds on the shot clock. Just before the refs set the play he sent in CJ for Shaq for the offensive play. CJ got the put back basket. Great substitution.
He coached an amazing game tonight! Benched Corey more than most coaches would've and got the most out of the bench tonight. Had a great feel for the game tonight
The amount of single digit loses we had this year.....the team could have easily folded. Instead Coach Pike has them playing the best ball of the year.
As a 24 yr season ticket holder I have seen my highs and my lows in the last few years. This team makes me so very proud. Congratulations to Coach Pikiell and the team.
Yes. We had lots of foul trouble so there was a lot of shuffling in of players and going deep into the bench. And the switch to zone defense.
But obviously give credit to these kids. Great attitude, great work ethic.
