Great memory. Just out of idle curiosity, who was Don Criqui's color man for the broadcast. It sounds like Mike Mayock, but I don't know for sure.

I remember living in Arlington VA, surrounded by VT fans (who were super-hyped as Hokies were great with Vick). There was an audible groan across the bar, except two of us whooping it up. I don't look back at that game with fond memories as UM was not a good team yet had us on ropes. I think Graham made the big defensive stop to get ball back. While a spectacular finish, also a harbinger that we were not a great team at all. I can also say this now, I would love a Dan Morgan LB on our 2022 team. We was a great, hard-nosed player. What a hit on Thompson but pass was just too good.

PSU was dead in the water, What a great throw and run by Thompson and Fields that's Pro Football Hall of Famer Ed Reed is running away from.

As Lavar Arrington once said when asked about that same Dan Morgan, "Who's Dan Morgan?"

That is such a bittersweet memory for me. Took my new bride to that game, tailgated with a ton of fraternity brothers... but I bought two tickets that ended up in middle of asshat Miami fans. I was lucky we were not stabbed. Late in that game when I felt we would not win I decided for safety reasons to get my bride out of there. I was walking back to parking lot when that play happened. My hatred for life for all things Miami was cemented that day

I took my grandmother to the game. What a trooper she was. I treasure the picture of her holding a "Love ya Lions" sign.

Recollection was we were dominating and then as game wore on the Heat and Humidity got us and we wore down. That TD along with Lavar's game saver vs pitt made us feel like a team of destiny. Ooops.

Also the game where Santana Moss (pretty sure it was moss) attacked David Macklin in such a manner that constituted A&B and certainly gets him tossed in the 3rd qtr. Play occurs near sideline IIRC and was pretty bad stuff (can't recall if a ref was right there or not). If I can find full game online sometime i will report (maybe my older eyes will view it differently than i did then).

That game was actually fairly packed with fans. I learned there is a big difference between "fans" and "alumni". I clearly remember a big fat (I am guessing Cuban immigrant) who kept yelling the word "we" as in "we are kicking your ***", etc... I finally got in his face and asked what year he graduated, he had no answer so I told him to eff off. We left a few minutes later.

Yeah, I was there, but luckily in a section fairly well represented by PSUers

I was only a kid then, but that play is one of the very few I actually remember from my youth growing up.

I loved it! And I was thrilled that my rental car was not stolen being parked in an Orange Bowl neighborhood.
We got lucky. Ended up parking at the courthouse. It was a bit if a walk, but almost the entire lot was Penn State fans, and the I-595 ramp covered most of it so we were actually able to tailgate in spite of the rain.

That said, toss-up as to which is worse for parking....old Orange Bowl or old Citrus Bowl

Was at a wedding in Ann Arbor (Weber’s) and missed the bride/groom cake cut as a bunch of us were upstairs at the bar watching the end of this game.

Such an interesting year this was for PSU football. What looked to be a special season was derailed by the loss to Minnesota. The following week they lost to Michigan on two late Tom Brady (one running, one passing) touchdowns. The season ended with a shut out win over Texas A&M in the bowl game with Jerry Sandusky being carried off the field in his last game as defensive coordinator.

My late mom sat behind me at home as I watched the Thompson throw... When it was caught she started screaming RUN RUN RUN RUN... I don't believe it... I don't believe it... I don't believe it! Then, after the extra point our phone rang and my then four year-old nephew was screaming into the phone... CHAPIE FIELD... CHAPIE FIELD... CHAPIE FIELD... CHAPIE FIELD!
