Intercepting 41 passes in a HS season seems almost impossible. Esp in 1981

The statistic that caught my attention when I saw it years ago is the career sack leader. Unimaginable.

I find it interesting that I remember so many of those names from 20 some years ago .. Brasic, Boone Thorgesen, Sean Price. And most passing records happened in 20XX though Brasic did start his carreer in 1999.

PJ Fleck makes a couple of appearances in the listings. East St. Louis has one representative - Homer Bush with 22 TDs our senior year. U of I football then went back to baseball, where he made a name for himself as a Yankee and World Series champ. Dude had some killer curl going on back then - Soul Glow level !Joliet (Catholic) is listed six times - EACH BEING ON THE RECEIVING END OF THE RECORD PERFORMANCE. No Lincoln Ways, Three Mt. Carmels - all the southern version.

Just curious. Where do I find the "record book" that contains all of these numbers? Is there a Illinois High School Football site that lists all of these? Who is responsible for updating and publishing the records for every team in Illinois?

Link to records below. It's fun to look at, but the issue is keeping it accurate and up to date. Schools are responsible for reporting stats and records to the IHSA and sadly most do not.

I remember this night, not that I was at the Granite City game. But I remember hearing the report at Althoff's game and we played Granite the next week. And we kicked their tails!

What's even more impressive IMO, is that Pittsfield had a streak of 15 consecutive shutouts during their streak
