State is not going to be much different than we were this past season during SEC play. You can down Kodi and Rayvern, but Kodi was 2nd in the SEC in double-doubles, and we wont have anybody shoot the basketball like Rayvern did. While we will replace it- thinking we will be much better than what they gave us is being extremely sheepish. Hood may be bigtime- but he is going to be a true Freshmens- and he is going to have his struggles.

Rayvern this season for us was better than Jamont was for us his Freshman season- do you think Hood is going to be better than Jamont as a Freshman? Before you answer, let me remind you Jamont had a year of prep school to mature that Hood doesnt. I dont think Hood can give us that kind of production as a Freshman.

I dont see the 2012 team being any better than the 2010 team we had with 5 returning starters. I'm not trolling- I'm being dead serious.

Yet you seem to think that the freshmen for Arkansas and LSU are just going to step in andmake them better?

No team in the West will have a starting five as good as MSU next year. Bost, Steele, Sidney, Moultrie, and Hood will be a great lineup whether or not Hood puts up big numbers. Stansbury is the only X factor. If he decides toactually coach with his head out of his *** like he did the firsthalf of his career then we will be the team to beat. If he doesn't then I agree that we could have a repeat of 2010.

Hood will be surrounded by veterans. Jamont was heavily counted on to be the man. We just need Hood to be a role player. Huge difference there.

As for Ravern, he shot lights out after his suspension, but did you notice what Taylor did today against Richmond without Ravern guarding him?

Maybe you really believe what you post. I mean you did think Penn State was in the Big East.

that has some damn good players going against him while he is a true Freshman....Until Standsberry proves me wrong- I think my line of thinking is doing well

averaged 10 points and 6.5 rebounds in a conference much less athletic than the SEC. He also shot 22% from 3 his Soph year...

Kodi gave us a solid 12 and 7 this past season- if Moultrie matches that we will be grateful

Releford, Mitchell, Green > Bost, Sidney, Moultrie

Steele is rumored to be hurt worse than people know and may not even see the court till January

Us and Bama have pretty much even recruiting classes

And they were alot better than us this past season. Dont believe the hype

He was in Mouth of Wilson as a senior and then abruptly left and headed up to Philly and went to Goodridge's scam of a school for like 3 weeks to magically meet all his requirements.

And even go as far as to say we take a share of the SEC Championship, win the SEC Tourney in NOLA, and earn a 3-seed in the Atlanta Regional.<div>
</div><div>But we all know we'll lose to a Cinderella 11-seed from the A10 or CAA.</div><div>
</div><div>I will say this about our potentially loaded team next year... with the SEC Tourney in New Orleans, NCAA Regionals in Atlanta and St. Louis, and the Final Four in New Orleans as well... it's all there for us to have some kind of epic, well-attended tourney run.</div><div>
</div><div>But until that team steps out on the court in November... I wouldn't get my hopes up.</div>

I can see where you'd look at our roster on paper and think we might put up a season like 04, but I just don't see it. I think we'll be a bubble team again, with a best case scenario of an 7 or 8 seed.<div>
</div><div>Individual talent doesn't always equal having your best team, the 02-05 teams had tough, cohesive, disciplined, and unselfish players that made for some good teams although they might not have had the same talent. </div><div>
</div><div>I can see Moultrie being just as good or better than Kodi and not noticing Benock is even gone, but Ravern's shooting was a little underrated and will be missed. Also, 2 guard is not a good place to have a weakness. The best case scenario personnel wise would be for Deville to hopefully be better than Bost was as a freshman so they could play together in the backcourt</div>

but he will pull a rabbit out of the hat and stumble into the tourney. And of course that means we will have the sob for another year or 2 after that.

But we know Moultre will be good and the 2 returning players are our 2 stars, sidney will be in much better shape and Bost is already good, not to mention both Jalen Steele and Brian Bryant were very impressive at times this year, I wouldn be surprised with a 4 seed but im still not convinced stanz will be the coach for it.

Everything I've read said Steele's surgery went as well as one could hope for. Where is this coming from?

just rumor- who knows- but it's been said a couple of places that he may never be close to what he was...I hope this isnt the case

And even if the surgery went perfect- it doesnt mean he will be the same as before the injury...

It may be ******** and he will be good to go in September- I'm sure we'll learn more this summer

We will have MORE than enough Talent on the team, but our coach will screw up any chance we have to receive a high seed with several early BAD losses and by losing easy SEC games at home and on the road. What's new???? Remember Rider from 2009 ? Mississippi State Basketball.....

Releford, Mitchell and Green > Bost, Sidney and Moultrie? As of right now they may be, but Bost, Sidney and Moultrie are a lot more talented. Releford may turn out to be the greatest PG in SEC history, but he isn't Bost yet. Bost will be the best PG in the league next year. There isn't a coach in the league besides maybe Anthony Grant who would take Releford over Bost. Green is good, but Sidney is a fat, lazy bastard and put up almost the same numbers he did this year. If Green and Sidney play up to their potential, Sidney is the better player. He is a lot more talented than Green. However, who knows if Sidney will ever get his head out of his *** and get in shape.Moultrie is somewhat of an unknown at this point, but he is projected as a first round pick, and Stans has consistently said that he is the best player on the team. I trust thathe can play. We should have two first round draft picks next year. Bama can't say the same.

I hate to be overly wooly regarding next season, but there is no denying that next year's team will be pretty 17ing talented. Ihave no confidence in Stans to do much with the talent, but there is no reason we can't win the West. It will come down to us or Bama. Arkansas, LSU and Ole Miss aren't going to have much say in anything. If we get Jurick, and I think we will, we wouldhave arguably the best frontcourt in the SEC. Sidney is a dipshit and Jurick isn't exactly Stephen Hawking, but Moultrie, Sidney, Lewis and Jurick would make for a pretty imposing frontcourt.

I mean, we obviously won't have any one player that can step into their spot and be more productive, but the 2, 3, and 4 spot will just spread out their production between the three of them so that means we won't miss them. And if our offense averages 69.9 points per game or more and/or we win more than 17 games next year, then I will be proven right, no matter what else transpires.

and definitely would rather have Bost than Releford at this point.

But Green totally outplayed Sidney H2H, and yes, I know it was early in the SEC schedule. But Sidney is going to have to defend Green, and takes desire. Sidney has yet to show that desire.

Mitchell has gone for 15 and 7 as a Soph for them- he's a player as well. Moultrie will have his hands full with him.

Bama has out-scored every team they have played in the paint this season- if they get some better outside shooting next year- I think they will be the best team in the SEC.

I also think you underate Arkansas. They are going to be pretty good next season as well- especially when they play at home.
