If you have given up why don't you just go quietly. You it this crap out there for recruits to read and you wonder why we struggle

Allgeir, he's probably under 35, not an "old fart" like you and me, so he needs the attention. Reminds mo of the players that have a press conference to announce they are signing with a school. Who gives a **** whether he buys tickets or not. When we start winning, and we will, he'll be back.

Your team is like your kid. You don't always agree with them, they take your money, and they make you happy and sad but you don't give up on them.

Oh and let me guess OP, you'll still cheer on the blue and white in basketball right?

I can see bailing if you are a fan of Barnhart or Stoops but if you are a fan of Kentucky, which 99.9% is, then you ride till you die.
Ky born, Ky bred, I will be Ky blue, till I am dead. Something like that

35 yr old 30 yr season ticket holder? Musta had a generous allowance.

Yeah, he'll be sorry when they start winning again, like they always do.

I'm leaning that way. I was somewhat in denial after the Vandy loss, but the truth is much clearer now after Louisville. What is this coaching staff DOING in terms of game management and skill set development??? It looks like they are clueless in these areas. A player whiffing on a tough play is one thing, but whiffing completely on the most basic skill need, like a basic head-on block, catching a pass that hits the receiver waist-high in the hands, or missing completely a wide-open receiver crossing the end zone with no defender within 10 yards is RIDICUOUS for a college age, SEC "quality" athlete. Coaching staff time management at critical times looked like Middle School mistakes. Stoops, et al, lost me with the UofL loss.

It seems to be common knowledge that the football program has been terrible for an extremely long period of time. So why is it that people expect a first time head coach in the toughest conference with possibly the one of the least talented teams in all of football to come in and completely change the program in 3 years. Yes there is a new stadium but guess what a new stadium is not going to magically make players more talented.

I'm not going to say to is a good or bad coach or that he will become a good head coach. This past season yes his coaching performance was dreadful. Now yes he made a lot of mistakes some that may or may not have cost us a game or 2 in the win column. Give him a chance to look back, reflect, learn and hopefully grow from his mistakes. Now this time next year if he is still making the same gameday coaching blunders then yes should be sent packing. Last time I checked everyone and every coach makes mistakes even Saban. Prime example 2013 Iron Bowl. After Auburn had just tied the game Saban elected to kick a 57 yd field goal with one second remaining. The rest is history Tigers win on a 100 yd field goal return for a TD. 57 yd field goal just happens to be tough for even the best NFL kickers and his team should have known ad been prepared for a return on a miss but they weren't.

Let's be honest Stoops wasn't the only one that made game/season changing mistakes. Had Baker not dropped a few TDs or Boom and JoJo had not gotten hurt this would be a mute point. We would 99.9% chance be bowling and everyone would be praising Stoop's not asking for his head.

If your going to give up on the football program then your not a true UK fan or member of the BBN. True fans support all sports not just the successful one. Through the good seasons and the bad. Its not Stoops fault people don't understand building a football program is harder and takes longer than basketball.

To be fair, that's the equivalent of continuing to go to a restaurant even when they spit in your food, the food sucks and you get terrible customer service.
If you are equating your decision to be a UK with choosing a restaurant, then I can see why you, or someone who thinks like you, would go elsewhere. My loyalty to UK and its programs are in no way similar to choosing a restaurant, or any other product or service. UK is in my blood, and no matter how frustrating the football program is, I will always be a fan and support them. In my opinion, the fan base is much better off not having people who view being a UK fan as similar to buying a product or service.

You lost me when you insinuated that Saban wasn't a good coach. Stoops made more mistakes this year than Saban's made in his entire career.

Sorry, but this is a ridiculous statement. Have you counted all of Saban's mistakes throughout his career?

Learn to read I never insinuated that Saban was a bad coach just stating even the beat coaches makes mistakes and providing actual fact to back it up. Nice job at nitpicking because even the most ignorant of football fans know Saban isn't just a good coach but a great one and a sure fire hall of famer.

Calm down. Sugar coat your post all you want but saying Saban's name and Stoops name in the same sentence is like saying Stoops is a good football coach. Yes the Iron Bowl scenario was bad but it was a fluke more than a mistake. Similar to the blocked punt returned for a TD in the Michigan / Michigan State game this year. All of those coaches are tremendous and heck yes they made a mistake. My point was that Stoops screws up several times in every game we play while those other guys are in the midst of securing a spot in the playoff for the National Title. Didn't see any of those coaches put eight players on the field during any punts tonight.

I don't think I could just jump to another team. I do pull for Air Force due to my time in the service, but I am getting to the point of abandoning college football altogether. I just don't enjoy it much anymore. It is similar to how I feel with pro sports. I got tired of MLB due to the strike in 1994, NBA because of the lockout in 1998, and the NFL due to the decade of horrible football played by the Bengals from around that same time frame. I didn't jump back on the bandwagon when those sports ended their strikes/lockouts and I didn't switch allegiances to a better team. It just made me give up on those sports. I am about this close to dropping college football as well.

If Kentucky doesn't make some kind of major strides in the off-season and during next season, I might just have more time to do other things on the weekends in the fall.

Remaining a "true blue" football fan through all of the monetary contributions, mistakes, losing and anguish gives you the right to *****. A lot of people seem to enjoy the bitching. Don't give up on one of the best pastimes we have around here.

I'm only 32, but have lived in Lexington my whole life so Ive been watching UK football in person since the 80's. I got a solid promotion at work during Joker's tenure, and decided to get a pair of season ticket then for myself and the mrs. We too decided to not renew them after this season. We just bought our first house, that money makes a big difference in our budget. I even took on a second job in part to help pay for those season tickets. The kicker is, we still wouldn't hesitate to pay it today if we felt like we were getting any kind of return on our investment. It's a heck of a lot easier and cheaper to invite friends and family over to watch and let my wallet do the talking to Mitch instead. I will still go to a few games a season but I'm not paying up front for disappointment anymore.

I’m not making excuses for Stoops but remember it took Rich Brooks four years until he turned the football program around. I think the program is going in the right direction but it’s extremely hard to rebuild a program quickly in the Kentucky area. It just can’t be done overnight. The 2016 recruiting class has some very good offensive linemen in it. For the offense, that’s where it needs to start. To many times this year the quarterbacks were rushed into making quick decisions. We’re extremely fortunate in Florida to have such a good football recruiting base. That’s why programs like Florida can go from a 7-6 season to a 10-2 season in one year. Stoops’ is recruiting both Florida and Ohio very hard. With the Stoops family being from Ohio, if he can ever get a foot in the door in the State of Ohio, Kentucky will be set. I think that will happen, but it’s going to take a few years of winning before it happens. Also, whether many of you realize it or not, the facilities at Kentucky are becoming much better than many of your surrounding schools to include Ohio State. My daughter committed to Kentucky (gymnastics) back in July and we visited both Ohio State and Kentucky. The dorms are many times better at Kentucky (in comparison to Ohio State) and we found the academic assistance program to be better than Ohio State. The football team is building a new field house adjacent to the stadium which will be very nice when complete. Football will return to Kentucky…it might take a little while, but it will happen.

I am probably done with the season ticket thing for a while until I have a reason to come back to CWS. I don't live in Lexington so I usually have to pony up for a hotel room for the night games so I am not driving tired, buzzed and angry (after another loss) in the dark. I typically drop about 3 hundred per game if you factor in the cost of the tickets, gas, food, snacks, tailgating whiskey and hotel room. That's about $2,100 plus bucks a year which could go toward a lot of other things that don't piss me off every weekend.

OP has guts. I cannot give up on this program so easy. Unlike many people are recognizing though, there is a breaking point for DIEHARD fans who don't want to be hurt by their teams administration anymore.
