I'm expecting the SEC Network to suck for the most part

Convince me I'm wrong. Other than the live sporting events, I highly doubt ill tune in much. I'm expecting another FoxSportSouth or CSS type channel.

Agree or disagree?

Disagree.

I was very impressed with Tebow as an analyst prior to the BCS title game. There will be constant SEC Storied, etc programming as well...

But the live events are definitely the calling card. Was surprised they went so mild on the baseball games in year 1. I expect it to be a 7 day a week affair in the future... Too many eyeballs wanting to watch it for them to not give much greater inventory...

There`s going to be a lot of money changing hands and there are always strings attached when that happens. Without typing a thousand word commentary about the subject I`m sure MSU (as the conference member with arguably the smallest TV footprint) is going to get treated like a stepchild from time to time. BUT the money`s going to be good enough that it`ll offset us getting our feelings hurt once in a while.

I`m 100% positive the SEC did the right thing up front in entering into this partnership, I just hope the conference doesn`t become so dependent on ESPN`s money that ESPN starts dictating what the conference does and doesn`t do.

From an "pure entertainment" standpoint, I like everyone involved with the network. I like controversy and awkwardness when watching TV. Although I'm a gun-toting, right wing, nut job, I don't watch Fox News (or CNN for that matter). I have no desire in echo chambers. I like hearing differing opinions and I think they will do a good job of putting heavily opinionated personalities on there.

The production values will be all over the place is they take ownership of coaches' shows. I'm not sure if those contracts are changing, but I don't expect those to become exclusive to the SEC Network. If so, you will see a variety of TV quality. And yes, ours looks like it belongs on The Pursuit Channel, not an ESPN ran network. If the SECN takes ownership of the shows, that is good for us fans. We will inevitably get a better show.

IMO, what is going to suck is the partisan coverage. 95% of the airtime will be filled with Bama, UF, LSU, USC (because its close to Charlotte), and UK basketball. I will be happy if we are able to "own" a lot of Spring coverage thanks to our baseball team.

I couldn't disagree much more. It's going to be more like an ESPN2 than the ones you mention.

That's the thing about the SECN. The SEC is just as much an owner of the network as ESPN is. And the SEC will own 100% of the programming content so it will have total control.

Espn already dictates to the SEC. Matchups and schedule times and in the future it's gonna get worse because of the time fill necessary. Much of the network will be online like espn 3. That's why sites like hailstate.com are mostly going away.Every school will have their own production team and facility.
