I'm glad Lesnar won, but it appeared the fight could have been stopped....

in the first when he was getting pummeled. That subjectiveness is what I don't like about UFC nowadays. I know it's for the safety of the fighters, but come on, they are FIGHTING. They know what they are getting into when they sign up.

So in actuality, Lesnar was the fight winner, pure and simple. But I could see a case being made by Carwin.

I'm not a big UFC watcher, I enjoy it but all the good stuff is on PPV and I'm not paying so I am stuck watching stuff on Spike but I watched last night thanks to myusernamesucks providing a free link. Don't they usually stop fights when the player getting a beat down stops doing anything except covering up? I ask because it did look like Lesnar never completely stopped trying to get out, he threw the occasional back hand and squirmed around for most of the time he was down.<div>
</div><div>I would not have been surprised by a stoppage but I was glad to see they didn't. Sucks for Carwin because he was obviously punched out after that first round. Lesnar proved he could take a beating.</div><div>
</div><div>I may have to watch those more assumingmyusernamesucks keeps coming through with free places to watch it. All the fights last night were good.</div>

Are you saying they should have stopped it? Or that you would have been pissed if they had? You sound like you want to get on to them for doing something that did not happen. I didn't see it btw.

but I can see where Carwin may have a point to argue because they didn't. UFC is notorious for controversial stoppages/victories like that. As the trend goes, it could have gone either way.

I, personally, am glad they did not stop it.

and I hate to admit it because I am not a Lesnar fan.

He was 'intelligentally defending himself' when Carwin was beating on him. People are trying to argue this fact, but what else are you going to do? Imagine a 270 lb guy reigning punches/elbows on your face. You would do the same thing...enter the fetal position and try to weather the storm whileexecuting some sort of defensive strategy. Actually, I would prolly die, but you get the picture.

The Leben/Akiyama fight was great too. God I hate 'the Crappler' but you can't deny his toughness.</p>

I just think that UFC has been stopping fights prematurely in the last couple of years due to fighter safety. Just like with the SEC refs, I just want consistency.
