If I remember right the sun shines directly on the visitor side bleachers. So if it's a little chilly I will probably sit on that side to stay a little warmer.

Essex is not playing in Lynchburg. Fort said he was going to see the Salem-Lake Taylor game and was asking what side of the stadium to sit on at Liberty University. And if you have not been there, it is substandially a better facility than Salem, and actually nicer than Va. Tech and UVa, just not quite as big, but the expansion has made that place really nice. Great place to watch a football game. Glad to see Fort going for that game. The other D3 promises to be a good game as well. You get a better perspective of things when you watch higher level teams play and see first hand the increase in talent. Fort will have a good day. I wish him well.I'm glad to see he is broadening his horizons.

Care to share with the board what you feel makes Williams a "substantially better facility than Salem" as well as "nicer than UVa and Va. Tech"?

I wish Essex and AltaVista were in Lynchburg along with MV-Lafayette. Hard to see both games 60 miles apart.

I concur that LU's stadium is better than Salem's. More seating, more restrooms, more concessions, better locker rooms, better press box, stadium workers are friendlier. For some reason, Salem Stadium feels like a prison stadium.

The ONLY thing Salem may have LU beat in is parking and I am not sure about that.

Salem Stadium is a high school field compared to LU's.

Liberty U. has a men's basketball game Saturday at 2 pm. Those fans will take up about 50 of the parking spaces that football fans could use. Why do they schedule a basketball game if they are hosting the VHSL football state championships.

It's just been revamped and expanded. I'm not being critical of our facility or Tech or Virginia. Those last two are bigger, but our place, as nice as it is, is not as big as Liberty. My comment was not about what was wrong with any other facility, but what was right about the nice place they have at Liberty. Things like this should not be upsetting.

Hold up a bit. First of all, Salem definitely has a better parking situation. My post was a compliment to Liberty, not a criticism about anybody else, and your remark about Salem being like a prison is outlandish.

I have been on field and in locker room for 4 state championship games at Salem, plus 2 at LU. I also have worked every LU home football game for the past 7 years. I know both stadiums well.

It is a lot better than Salem because it is a college stadium but nicer than UVA or Tech? in what way. As far as playing high school games, yes

Probably because the game was already scheduled. Why would they change their basketball game because of a high school game going on. They usually have about 3 other events going on as well.
