It’s comfortable to them. It’s easy to sell to recruits bc it’s all 1v1. It’s how they play in AAU. It’s how they play in pickup ball. You can say “showcase your playmaking and individual skills” etc.

Our offense is going to be extremely fun to watch and extremely effective in winning college basketball games (and pro games but they also have roster continuity to run a complex system). But it’ll appear to be a little complex at first glance for 1 year mercenaries to want to learn before leaving.
