I'm I the only one that thinks our schedule is awful?

And 7-0 by the time we play Bama is a pipe dream. We haven't beat Auburn since 07' and before that it was 2000.' If we were to play Tenn today on a neutral field it would be a toss up and A&Mwill be eventougher, they have a ton of talent, andwe will be extremly lucky to win that game as well. We never beat Bama, LSU and Ark no matter how good our team is playing couple that with playing at Oxford, and we have an awfully tough schedule. I can see 6-6 as a real possibility. If we have a magical year similar to 2010,' I can see 8-4. The wool is getting so thick on this board I'm having trouble reading most of the posts. </p>

TN, AU and A&M in the same year. Its a great schedule all things considered---like the fact that we have to play the 6 Western Div teams.

I'd rather play TN than Vandy this year.

So we have 6 nonnegotiable games, but the 2 auto losses are on the road. We play probably the 2 worst East teams, and we have 4 very winnable OOC games. What more do you want?---other than to play in CUSA?

TN, Auburn, and A&M. And TN is not that good.

We are going to lose to Bama and LSU no matter where we play them.

Maybe we should swap out LSU, Bama, and Ark with Notre Dame, Miami, and Colorado.<div>
</div><div>Like DS said, the iffy games are at home. Granted we are M State and all games are iffy.</div>

...don't have to play UF, UGA, USC, an improving Vandy & instead get a floundering UT team @ home & a team that is equal to us in talent (Texas A&M) at home.

Please tell me how this type of trade-off is "awful."

Plus we get UK @ UK which doesn't matter, because we now own UK.

Then the last part of the schedule is UPig @ home & a game @ OM that we will win.

I'll take the beatdown from Bama & LSU anyday as a trade-off to this schedule.

We wouldn't beat Vandy or Tenn by 2 TD's at home, we would be lucky to win, period. And to answer Desto's question, I realize that the SEC West is tough no matter what but I would like to play LSU and A&M earlier in the season. Those last five games are brutal without a bye.

I'll add --- we have no back-to-back road games for the first time I can remember, apparently no Thursday night games (thus no short weeks), and we have a cupcake non-conference schedule.

Only thing I might change would be the bye week... maybe move it after Bama to give us a rest late in the season?? But as it sits now it should improve our chances against Kentucky & Tenn which are must wins. So I'm not even sure I'd change that.

They lost to Kentucky who started their WR at QB the whole game. Let me say that again, Kentucky played their WR at QB the whole game.

We have a very real chance to be undefeated going into the Bama game. Not much hope against Bama or LSU, but every other game on the schedule is very winnable and the possibility exists to win 9 or 10 games in the regular season. Like this schedule? Hell yes.

but I also watched them beat Vandy, which is as close to our equal as anyone else in the conference this year. And yes, I know it was in overtime on a questionable call. Again, I say 6-6 for 2012... archive it, and we'll see who was right at the end of next season.

..then all hyperbole aside, he should be fired. Or he should go ahead & take the Penn State job if it's still open (which would be worse than getting fired).

Not much to ***** about here. The only worry I have is being banged up after the stretch heading into the OM game.

Haven't looked into what LSU and Bama have coming back, but I know we'll beat them at some point down the road. Really still questioning in my mind what the LSU game would have been like had we not stopped fighting after the first series of the second half.

What else do you want but the opportunity to play the best competition out there? If we win most of our games then we will be a top team in the country (not just our conference). I like the opportunity to prove we can be one of those top teams. If you cant handle the pressure of supporting an SEC team, you may want to search fornew team or leisurely passtime.

Granted I don't agree with you about our team taking a 6-6 regular season record with this schedule, but you're actually willing to puff your chest out in a way that seems like you're hoping we go 6-6 just to prove your *** right? Wtf is wrong with you?

when they are making the schedules. This schedule sets up VERY nicely for us. If we can find a way to start 7-0 or 6-1 and build up the confidence, you never know what can happen down the stretch against the Big Boys. Barring injuries at key spots, we will be 8-4 minimum with this schedule.. (save it, bookmark it, write it down, archive it**)

Brand new QB, losing a ton of seniors from a team that went 6-6,new coaching staff, and we get them at home. Why would we be lucky to win that game? And right now we are clearly better than UT. They lost to Kentucky with a WR that played QB the entire game. They suck right now.At home this year we should win by at least a TD, maybe more. We get Auburn at home with 2 new coordinators, a terrible QB situation, and the possible transfer of their best player in Dyer.

This is the absolute best scenario we could havehoped for. We get 4 nonconference wins andthe bestpossible scenario for an above .500SEC record we've had in a very long time.@UK and @OM, home against UT, TAMU, and Auburn. The best team in that group won 7 games. We get the opportunity to build momentum early and carry it into our tough games. I like the schedule, and I would take it every year over the ones we've had in the past.

are playing. I stated that the way people on the board are claiming a 7-0 record is a stretch to say the least. I do not like the schedule or the bye placement because it sets us up for a very difficult late October and November. I think it's a little much to claim victories over Tenn and A&M considering our current position and what we have coming back next year. Like I said, I see 6-6 but if we get some breaks we could end up at 7-5 or if we get really lucky 8-4.

While our record was worse this year than last, we are definitely headed in a better direction as a program and our recruiting class shows it. Tennessee is trending downward with horrible losses like Kentucky this year, and A&M had a bad year and fired the coach. They will be incorporating a new offense and lose several players. It would be considered a step in the wrong direction for us to lose to both of them.....especially at home. That's why you are getting nobody agreeing with you.

I'm not going to talk about this team as if they're world beaters, but going 6-6 with our schedule isn't a bad team by any stretch of the means. Tennessee is a bad team. You said earlier that them beating Vandy puts them on equal footing as us, but I couldn't disagree more. They lost to Kentucky with a WR starting at qb. If we were on equal footing then we would have had a similar loss. We had no such thing as we only lost to ranked opponents.<div>
</div><div>If State and Tenn. played right now, State would be the favorite. Beating them would not mean we got lucky. aTm would be a toss up even though aTm had worse losses than we had. Again.. I just do not see how 8-4 is lucky. If we go into Bama 5-2 something very wrong happened with one of those losses. 6-1 is forgivable, but 7-0 isn't toofar fetched.</div>

With all of the hypotheticals considered, everyone is taking it that you're saying with the team we have coming back and the ones we're supposed to face, that you're saying between Auburn, KY, UT, aTm, TSUN... you're saying we're going to go 2-3 against them? 3 of them are the worst teams in the conference with another one with a new head coach and losing a **** load of important starters, but we're lucky to go 8-4???

Really? If we can't at least beat Tenn, UK, and Ole Miss with that schedule to finish the regular season 7 wins, we are much worse than I thought we were. I can see us being 6-1 at worst heading into Bama.

I did not realize they were that dismal this year. They have had some respectable bowl teams recently and an sec team visiting their place will have them fired up. I feel much better knowing they sucked this year
