I'm just sad

[TrueMaroonGrind]

Sad that it's all over. Sad the way it ended. Sad that we didn't win a natty. Sad that Jake didn't realize his dream. Just sad about it all.

Ditto my brother. Baseball is the only sport we have a chance to win it. And we get so close. I’m so not looking forward to football knowing we don’t even have chance of winning our own division let alone a natty.

At least basketball should be good.

Gotta be the best team. We were 3rd or 4th best. No choice but to get better. No time for tears, we need to give 11.5 scholarships to the best pitchers in the nation while losing nothing on the hitting end.

It will be interesting to see how Lemonis recruits long term... we still look small-ish compared to other teams.

Vandy will send Louisville packing tomorrow. Talk about looking small. Vandyboysss > Louisville. Michigan has some men. They will give Vanderbilt a hell of a finals.

I disagree that you gotta be the best team. You usually need to be one of the top 4-5 best teams , get hot at the right time, catch some breaks along the way, and get helped by a little luck. We are right where we need to be as a program to continue competing for a natty in Omaha.

We were never getting past Vandy with our bullpen and defense.

[Joe Schmedlap]

Too many failed opportunities at the plate. Team as a whole was unclutch and one or two talented individuals were automatic outs over and over in Omaha. The inability to score runs magnified the complete bullpen failures in inning 5 against VU and inning 7 against UL.

Women's basketball is our best chance, and it's not even close. The key is to find a sport with no parity and become elite at it. Baseball is way too difficult in that regards.

This is it.

The good thing for me is I had worked through some things that are due next week in order to be off an in omaha.

We got beat by 2 teams that were better (more talented) than us. I hate it, but it’s the truth. It does suck, and I’m sad as well.

We looked like high school kids compared to Vandy. We got the max out of what we had. Need a couple of bombers and better relief pitchers.

One more time for the Mayor:

[HumpDawgy]

Even though I'm disappointed, this was a great season. I enjoyed watching these scrappy guys play on the diamond. Fun group of guys who love STATE.

[Seinfeld]

This basically it. We can beat Vandy, and we certainly have the ability to beat Louisville, but you gotta bring your A game to Omaha. We brought a C-

Some guys made good plays, but pitching was shaky all week, defense made a lot of miscues, guys were impatient at the plate at times, and we were awful with guys on the bags.

This team was undoubtedly good enough to win it all, but we didn’t play remotely close to the way that we needed to play to do so. Arkansas could say the same
