I'm not one to get worked up over recruits highlight clips,

but watching Cord Sandberg on Marcello's blog has got me pretty geeked up about this commitment. He could really be a good one.

The talent is definitely there and he looks like a prototypical (Tebow-like) QB for Mullen's style. I can't wait to see his throwing motion and velocity after a year on campus. Agreed he could be really good.

Same here. I almost wished I had not watched that....hopes up and all.

The kid looks very good. Not to mention, he is running the same offense very well. I hope we put him in the boat.

What I was most impressed is the kid can throw the ball down the field.....often times i see recruits who throw a 5 yard out pattern, and the receiver goes 80 for a td.....this kid made all kinds of throws down the field....on top of that, he is big, he is fast, and he is strong.....and he is a winner.......7A Florida state championship, 7A player of the year....all as a junior....i will bet my pocket book he will be bumped to a 5 star before signing day too...

yeah, this recruiting battle is far from over......wish he could sign today....

After relf and russell, would be nice to see a QB that can move his damn feet.

The only real knock on him is that he is lobbing the ball a little too much. He needs more zip on some of those passes. After two years of Relf rainbowing it up among three or more defenders, I really want to see a qb who can hit a WR in the numbers AND run when he needs too. He is also faster than Relf was.

You are exactly right about the fight for him not being over. He is a Florida boy. Neither UF nor FSU have offered. LSU has, but I don't see him going there. Who wants to be the next Jordan Jefferson? Auburn has. I would say they would be out biggest competition for him at the moment. And they will put the full court pre$$ on him.

No more camps for him other than ours. His whole family seems to be Mullen fans. Take it with a grain of salt...

I don't believe he would have committed if he wasn't set on coming. The ONLY possible fly in the ointment might be the MLB draft but from what I heard he is currently batting around .350 with 1 HR as an outfielder. He is a good prospect but not likely a Top 5 round type guy which helps me breathe a slight sigh of relief. Unless he blows up as a SR on the diamond we should be in relatively good shape.

I don't see Mushamp or Jimbo offering this kid. Is he great? Yes. No question about it. But Florida will strictly run an NFL offense from henceforth and FSU runs an Oklahoma-esk pass oriented spread offense. Sandberg is in their yard but he isn't what they want or need. Us and Missouri are his only two legitimate places to go and play and star in the SEC because we're the only two SEC schools left that encourage our QBs to run the ball.

So would you rather go to Mizzou, who plays most of the season in freezing weather and isn't an SEC team, or go to a traditional SEC school with the Florida connection you spent the better part of his youth watching that has a head coach that developed the most polarizing figure in all of sports history... Who looks and plays just like you? No brainer.

We could very well lose him, but it'll be because the MLB is behind the times on their policy of high school athletes in the draft.

QB that LSU and Auburn landed. I know LSU's Jennings has been lighting up the camps and has a greater physical ceiling. Cord looks like Tim Tebow except he appears to be smaller, faster, and quicker. He has been starting since his soph year at a 7A Florida school. Call me a sheep. BAAAAAAA.

I'm guessing he is going to break all his appendages in a game this year so it won't matter. Indian burial ground.

but at least this isn't a CJ Johnson/Nick Brassell type situation and I still think baseball would be a bigger threat than him ditching us (presuming we don't have some kind of horrible season). The family supposedly loves Mullen and what he did with Tebow.

I think he meant it was about time someone complimented him on having a good head, having alot of heart, being a gym rat, etc.
