I'm obviously missing something

After beating Florida last night, why is it that LSU is just now grabbing a share of the overall SEC title? With them being 11- 1 in the SEC going into that game (and now 12-1), I would have sworn up and down that they were the outright leader. So what am I missing?

And that would be correct. LSU is 12-1, which means even if they lose out, they are still 12-4. The best anyone else in the league can do is 12-4 if South Carolina or Kentucky were to win out. Hypothetically, even if Kentucky were to win out and LSU were to lose out (putting them both at 12-4 with Kentucky winning the head to head over LSU), LSU would still be able to claim a share of the SEC title, and they would still get a trophy.

I think that's the issue. I was misunderstanding the report I read. I was interpreting it as Florida was in the lead for winning the overall SEC title before last night, which is completely wrong.
