just read marcello's blog, and just put together all the things he is doing to get our facilities top notch is incredible...

stadium expansion, new ribbon boards, replacing the banners at DW.....

new basketball practice facility

adding new premium seating floor level at the hump

new football practice facility.....the dedication for former stars at DW.....

what else am I missing?.....and Mullen is really getting out of just-the-football-coach mode too....its impressive.....on FB he is even promoting the zac brown concert tonight.....eating lunch at all the greek houses and getting them involved.....

its incredible....

and what makes it more special, the fish are swimming away from the boat in oxford...

Nix needs to go ahead and put his house on the market.....I would almost be willing to bet my mortgage that he will be gone after next year...

good to be a bulldawg today............now, if we could just get our baseball team to get some hits with runners in scoring position...

it appears that what ninja started has been sustained and even expanded. And when Mullen bolts, there should be a strong foundation on which to continue. Thanks again Doc. Thanks again ninja.

but next year is shaping up to be the best overall sports year in MSU history.

Baseball - should be better, and possibly building off of an NCAA regional team.
Men's Basketball - arguably the most talented team since the Final Four team. Even Stans shouldn't be able to screw that up.
XC/Track - Ranked in the top 10 right now, bringing back most everyone making a contribution
Football - should be at least as good as last year. A couple of breaks and we have a special season.
Men's Tennis - will be defending SEC West champs and have a top 10 team

All the titty sports will suck as usual though.

I agree, but its still hard to believe our big 3'07 teams all made post season play, BB-NCAA tourney, FB-Liberty Bowl, BB-CWS. I'd love to see that happen again, but w/ better postseason results (call me greedy).

They can clean up if they get a lifelike statue of tempelton, put it in the junction, and charge a buck to strangle it until your fingers come out of joint. It's still astounding what an administrative overhaul has done in this short of time.

Our 06-07 baseball team made the CWS. Our 07-08 Football team made the Liberty. I look at academic years rather than calendar years.

1998 calendar year will be hard to beat with a CWS and an SEC West title, but the 97-98 academic year and the 98-99 academic year weren't too special beyond that.

BB-2007 Season started in Feb. CWS started in June 2007
FB-2007 Season started in Aug., bowl game was in Dec. 2007
Basketball-2007 Season started in Nov., went to the tourney in '08 (really the only questionable one, still 07-08 team)

Big three from '07 all made a postseason appearance.

It is amazing how much our athletic department (and University, for that matter) has changed just over the last 3 or 4 years. I know everyone hated Doc for obvious reasons, but some of it, I can't help but know he had his hand in the middle of (particularly getting rid of LT). We are more progressive and have finally lept into the 21 century in our athletic administration, which in turn has filtered to the faculty and students. We have grown, become more aggressive in EVERYTHING (marketing, facility upgrades, coaching, playing on the field... the list goes on), and we no longer have to put up with "the lowest bidder" mentality of our former administration. And as much as people hate to admit it, it really began with Doc (as much as we hated him).
