We should win this with ease, but Bill Snyder seems to have our number. My stomach is tied in knots.....

No way that we should win with ease.
But I understand what u mean. The good
Thing is they like to keep it on the ground and
Wvu D had had success stopping the run
But we've also struggled stopping running
Qbs at times . Skyler needs to be accurate on the
Mid range passes and not force it deeper into coverage. Skyler needs to also look at the check down back in the flat. Drives me nuts that he'll force it into double coverage or get sacked when the back is open in the flat and he won't look at him

If we play sound fundamentally, and avoid turnovers, we should prevail. If we start turning it over, we are in trouble.

You're not the only one bama...it's in their barn, and it's a Snyder led team....they'll come to play...our boys are on a roll and I think prevail if we keep the turnovers to a minimum as older gold says....

How's that Newf Dog doing anyway? Mine just got cleared of cancer (melanoma), so I'm pretty much over the moon right now...a Mountaineers victory Saturday will only add to the thrill!

This game worried me before the season looking at the schedule. I saw last game of the season at K State and thought, $%&#. WVU has to play one of its best games all year to win. Like others said above it will come down to turnovers and making enough plays in the passing game.

I was nervous about this one before the KU game......as several of you have already noted, no Mountaineer team should ever underestimate a Snyder-coached squad; even if they're just playing out the string. I'd be perfectly content to take a 1-point win right now and call it a day.

They played Oklahoma State, TCU, and Baylor close. All of them.
We've never beaten them as members of the Big 12. Last year is the only time the game was even CLOSE since we've been in the conference.
They have OWNED us.
It's in their house.
Yeah...you have reason to be nervous.
I hope our team wants this one really badly and they play with a serious chip on the shoulder.
We need to beat that old bastard.

(I use bastard in the kindest, most complimentary way. Seriously though, Snyder is one of the best of all time. He has performed miracles out there.)

In a way it might be helpful that Snyder has owned Dana in the past. It should keep us focused and not thinking the fact KSU is down this year means we can play flat and win.

KSU has the coaching advantage, the home field advantage and needs this one to avoid a losing season Plus, I'm still not 100% convinced this won't be Snyder's last home game and his players will know it even if we don't. That's a lot of "intangibles" whereas for us it's just a "pride" game because we'll probably end up in the same bowl regardless and we're no longer in danger of a losing record.

He's going to do everything he can to make us throw the ball and either have short possessions or turnovers. The game might come down to simply whether we can and do run the ball successfully despite the defense overplaying the run. KSU's defense this year is not what it has been and it's probably not going to score that much because the offense is limited as well.

1 or less turnovers and no special teams breakdowns and I think we win fairly comfortably, in the 27-13 range. One thing I sure don't want is for it to be a close game in the last 8 minutes. I don't like our chances in that situation.

I miss "I'm nervous about this game." I think we've gone 3 weeks without such a thread.

It's college football. No one knows how it will turn out. Hell, Alabama and Clemson don't know how their next games will turn out. That's what makes college football so great: Unpredictability. Although it is looking more and more like sandlot football.

M ighty defense throttled Georgia Southern, 44-0

O utstanding defense obliterated Liberty, 41-17

U nilaterally decimated Maryland, 45-6, on defense and offense

N oxious offense & special teams against Oklahoma, 44-24

T urnovers lose to Oklahoma State, 33-26 in OT despite impressive comeback from 15-point deficit.

A wesome Baylor too much, 62-38.

I ncinerated by TCU, 40-10. Way too many mistakes, penalties, dropped passes.

N ifty rushing, defense take down Texas Tech, 31-26

E xcellent turnovers by defense against Texas, 38-20

E rectile dysfunctioned Kansas, 49-0

R emarkable defense skewered Iowa State, 30-6

S lap down Kansas State

Alabama might not know how their game will turn out, but the rest of us do. Florida couldn't score in a whorehouse. Least attractive matchup of the whole week--maybe even including the Sun Belt games.

Don't think we will win with ease against a savy coach, a home crowd, senior day, bowl eligibility and any other motivation KSU can come up with. This will be a hard fought game and I hope we finally end up on top this year.

They have beat our asses every year here. No one at WVU is looking past this game.

They funny part is that our offense looks almost exactly like KSU's offense...but with better talent.

I think Bill has taught Dana a lesson the past few years. This year we will beat Bill Snyder at his own game....

Run, keep the play in front of you, wrap up the carrier and don't turn the ball over.

These two teams are very similar and Snyder knows how to beat WVU. Hopefully this year WVU will be on their A game and won't falter. With KSU's bowl eligibility on the line its going to be a battle.

If Snyder was retiring as well , then we might have been in real trouble.

Take it easy, were either 7-5 or 8-4, the future of our program is not going to be blown off its axis from either result.

i agree. However, one can assume trustew, wvpaper, low plains, and gowvu are on pins and needles praying for a loss in hopes Dana is fired.

Actually,...this game is exceptionally important.

Did we lose to all above average teams this season ? As it stands now, yes... ..so some of us can excuse our current losses (to some degree).

If we lose this game that part of the argument would be close to impossible to win.

---------

This game, along with our bowl, will ultimately define this season. It could be complete crap....or 'pretty good'.

I believe a couple of the one's you mention said they'd be happy to have Dana back if he finished up at 8 wins and a respectable bowl...I understand there is the group that will never be happy, but let's be fair...

There you go again, spewing your unprovoked venom. I have never, and will never wish for WVU to lose. I took my wife to the TCU game and I assure you I would not make a trip like that to wish they lose. I took my son to the Iowa State game, and again, I don't drive 6 hours one way to watch my team lose. You say the most unintelligent things.

As I said, I have never wished for our teams to lose. Can you say the same when Stewart was the coach? And I see you have reverted back to your childish name calling.
just like the OP said a few days ago, "spoken like a tru hypocrite". Insult others and call them out for retaliation. You fool nobody. Let me guess, you're gonna pray for me and offer me a beer lmao!!!

I have never called you any names and my only time coming close to insulting you was saying you say the most unintelligent things. And that is only after your repeated name calling. I challenge you to show where I have truly insulted anyone. And you didn't answer the question I posed to you.

yes, you have. And you use backhanded jabs as well. The difference is, I don't cry like you. You're to thin skinned for this board. And I have never wished for a WVU loss.

I've never seen such slobbering over a coach for another team. Snyder is a good coach, but some of you act like he is unbeatable. His team this year is absolutely terrible. If WVU loses this game will be because they play a bad game and make a bunch of dumb mistakes.

i would say his record is very deceiving. He is 5-6 with losses to TCU, Oklahoma State, and Baylor of 7 points or less. He could just as easily be 8-3. This team is not horrible. Plus, it's at KState. We've never beaten them. And they need this win to become bowl eligible. I would not be surprised if we drop this one.

********, they are a terrible team. They beat 3 tomato cans OOC, Kansas and squeaked by a terrible ISU team at home, and they lost to TEXAS.

You must be getting the excuses ready if we lose. Make no mistake about it, this KSU team is not good in any way.

call it ******** all you want but those are facts. It's not coincidental they lost by 7 points or less to 3 top 10 schools. Terrible teams don't do that. It speaks to how tough the conference is

Newsflash: this conference isn't that great. OU, TCU, and BU are 3 very good teams. OK State is a paper tiger and WVU and Tech are average. Texas, KSU, ISU, and KU are putrid football teams.

It's a decent conference, but you can't blame the league on WVU's mediocrity. If TCU and Baylor can wreck shop in this league, there's no reason we can't.

About what? You are knighting for a ****** Kansas State team in the event that we lose so that you can have your excuses lined up for your man crush that is our head coach. Don't worry, Dana is a big boy, he can handle the criticism.

Aren't you the guy that says Don Nehlen wasn't a good coach? lol

I absolutely have not called you or anyone else names on this board. I do my very best to be respectful, even when I have a differing opinion. You cannot show where I have called anyone names. As for you wishing for a WVU loss, unlike you, I simply ask you the question and did not say you did. I accept your answer.

This is a very fair assessment of the conference.
