watching my Mountaineers at the old stadium. I remember 35,000 viscious and screaming fans trying to beat Pen State. I think we did one time. I remember my banner taken down in front of the governor of WV (Arch Moore) "Beat Off the Lions" in graphic depiction.I remember the coliseum build and the Rapid Transit system...It was my idea! Hate mail is OK. I'm so old to remember that "Falling Run Road" was a place that I once lived...

Not just "good times", the best of times. I probably left a future wife there, but too stupid and young to realize it. All the rest was pure "gravy"!

Remember the little bungalow at the mouth of Falling Run Road? I know a two part tale involving a guy who lived there, a pack of drunks in a mid-60's behemoth of a Plymouth, and reunion of sorts for the guy who lived in the house and the guy who owned the Plymouth some 20 years later. It didn't go well.

Until that night if you told me an old Fury could knock a house off it's foundations and barely get a scratch, I would have never believed it. Mid-60's Detroit steel combined with big engines were a formidable opponent for any house from shacks to Buckingham Palace.

I remember, when it snowed, the guys in the house at the bend of Falling Run and University would but Target Signs on the cement road barriers and then sit on porch drinking beer and watch cars slide into them. Not as funny today as i thought it was then, but it still makes me chuckle when I think about it now.

I think I know this song. Doesn't the chorus start out:

"I'm the oldest thing around, other than the buildings - I'm Big Daddy!"
