.....make Wxxdy McCxrvey? A charity case?

Crxxm makes that statement every week. He makes no bones about it. We'll have to fire him before we ever change OC or completely overhaul our philosophy. In other words, we're stuck with this **** until Byrne and the money boys have had enough. Not really news though.

That's what I was thinking. I still believe that Cutcliffe wanted to get fired and get his buyout. It sounds to me like Croom would be more than happy to take his buyout as well.

You don't come out and blatantly say that you are the reason your team is struggling and then say that you aren't going to change anything unless you just want to get fired.

for a head coach taunt you like that. Greg, if there's a nut in your sack, don't let this clown taunt you or anyone else in control like that. If there was just a little more time left on the show, I was prepared to ask why Woody draws a paycheck since he's not OC. Even got a big raise and extension for doing such a great job as OC. Crooms, we know what's important to you and it's damn sure not the boys wearing maroon and white on the field nor the people wearing maroon and white in the stands.
17 you Croom.

This is why I think this off season is going to be interesting for MSU. Seeing how Byrne has handled himself in his first few months on the job, I'm more than willing to bet that he'll confront Croom about making some changes, especially if your offense continues to suck and your record ends up in the 4-8, 3-9 range.

Knowing Croom's stubbornness and his comments lately, he'll basically tell Byrne to stick it. He'll give him the "we're going to keep doing what we're doing" bit (same thing Cut gave to Boone). Question then will be whether Byrne will call his bluff and give him the pink slip, or will he back down and give Croom another year? That'll be interesting to watch. Of course, all of that only happens if you don't turn it around.

Also, I'll throw out that if Byrne does sack up and tell Croom to take a hike, you'll get raked over the coals in the media the same way we did with Cutcliffe. I know it's different and Croom's career record will be much worse, but all you'll hear is about how good of a guy he was and how he ran such a clean program. You'll then hear that he was in the process of righting the ship after being handed an impossible situation, and Byrne will get raked over the coals for firing him only one season removed from a great season. It'll be a load of BS, but if Byrne does sack up, you'll get a similar treatment to what we got for getting rid of the nice guy Cutcliffe.

Dig way back in the archives from a couple of years ago and I said this man's stubbornness in staying with his offense would be his down fall.

I also said he would try to change after it was too late.

It's too late.

there is no question about that. Our talent level ain't LSU's, but its better than the way we are performing. That falls on the coaches and scheme.

& tell him that he & his coaching staff are not bigger than MSU, he has been given a great opportunity, & year #5 is by no means the acceptable time for a lack offensive production. Further noting that until he can produce on the field, there is no need for a radio show, & the opportunity to mouth off at those that provide the opportunity for your job.

Croom has the shovel in hand, & is chest deep into digging his own grave, & it is past sad w/ those comments tonight.

Be a freakin CEO for this team, make the tough decisions, get the people in here to produce, & part w/ those that aren't getting the job done.

The bad part is, he is going to make his assistants more unemployable the longer they allow him to bring them down through his stubbornness. At some point, you would think that Woody & Cheese would sit him down, & inform him.

What really get me is his statement from "say it loud," or whatever. that coaches are at fault for not promoting more AA assistants to coordinators, so they can prove their ability to be head coaching material. He is doing a great job of squashing his own belief.

How the hell can we continue to pay Wxxdy if Crxxm is the head coach/offensive coordinator. Thats just a waste of peoples money. You hire the guy for a damn reason not to just keep him payed a lot because hes your pal. I could see Crxxm getting fired and telling all the commitments to 17 off.

That would be the key for Byrne. He'd take a lot of criticism for sure, but if he hired the right guy and the results showed up on the field, then people would back down and concede that Byrne was right. It takes a boldness and a lot of conviction to do it though.

Me personally, I still don't think Crxxm is going anywhere until at least after the 2009 season. Now if we don't make at least a change at OC after this year, then I'm going to start to lose faith in Byrne. He has to step up and at least force Crxxm to make changes on his staff.

...and he sounded upbeat, almost giddy, for a coach on the hotseat. I think he has accepted his fateful demise at the end of the year, as he and Woody will change for no one. If you put a realtor's sign in his yard, he'll thank you for saving him the trouble. He wil laugh all the way to the bank. Be comforted that unlike UM, you have a capable Byrne and not a goofball like Boone to find your next head coach. The BCA will hate you, of course.

Can Byrne fire Woody after this year or is he locked up for two with a buyout clause? If he has to be renewed after this year, I would tell Croom no on Woody and make Croom make the call to stay or go without his buddy. Nobody could fault Byrne for firing Woody and Croom would look like the *** he is if he makes a big fuss about Woody not being rehired.

The BCA is a joke. They should push for coordinator positions because there sure as hell aren't hordes of great black head coach candidates. This is what happens almost every time they really push for someone to be a head coach. I think the head of the BCA had the worst losing percentage in Rhode Island history. Willingham, who used to be the poster boy, is failing. Croom is failing. By turning it into a race issue the BCA is making itself look like an idiot. The candidates keep failing.

We have evidence on ESPN that Croom is a 17ing ****** coach that is in way over his head. We are not the only ones questioning this 17tards in game decision. We are not the only ones questioning this dipshits offense and play calling and usage of players or shall I say non usage of players. We our currently in the bottom 10 in D1 scoring and 95th in ypg. We all know where we finished the last 4 years under this clown. And with all this evidence, this idiot wants to taunt the fans, boosters, and his boss, by telling us to go 17 ourselves and the only way any thing will change is if he's fired? **** you ask me, this dumbass is making it easier to fire his *** without the backlash. Like I said with Polk, let his foolish and prideful tongue keep spewing out this ****, while maintaining the same results, and he will hang his own *** by years end.

.....the more we're on TV the better. If we're winning, that's great, and it helps in recruiting., If we 're getting a mudhole stomped in us every week, it's still a good thing that we're on TV. That way everyone gets to see what a mess of a football team Crxxm has, and maybe it helps ease the media blow after firing him at some point in the future.

the media's darling should be on TV all the time. Let them see exactly what kind of the job the pillar of integrity in the SEC is doing. In year 5 we should beat La Tech, we should be able to score on Auburn, we should hang with a mid-level ACC team with a new coach and offensive system....and the days of the 30 point losses to LSU should be over

Holy ****, could Greg Byrne have found a worse athletic department to inherit if he tried? Geez, if that man can make something out of MSU athletics, then the world will be his oyster.

Seriously, what are the chances of busting your ***, getting a shot at your dream job, then finding out you have to put not one, but TWO stubborn old coaches who have their own agendas and who have lost touch with reality out to pasture?

Greg, if you're reading this: This is the last big hurdle. We promise. Just give us hope that next year won't be like this year.

was because Ole Miss was saying things like "all we need is a competent coach and we can go to the BCS frequently." (Paraphrased) "We were in the Cotton Bowl last year".

I actually agreed with Ole Miss firing Cutcliffe, but they went about it wrong.

Yeah, the same morons that talk will talk, but we're going to have a 3-9 or 2-10 record and an offense that is sub 100 for the fifth year in a row and we WILL NOT go out and say that "we're looking for someone to take us to the BCS year in and year out".
