I'm too lazy to do the math, but.............

I heard this morning that (excluding Troy and Alcorn) we are averaging less than 4 points second half in the other 6 games we played?

Excluding Troy and ASU our scores have been in the second half: 0, 7, 3, 0, 7, and 6.

Even factoring in Troy and Alcorn, it's 6.75 second half points per game. That means if we score a touchdown (and get the XP) in the second half we're overperforming.

In 2012, in SEC games and the bowl game, we scored 12.66 points per game in the second half. The best second half performances came against Auburn (21), UT (14), and Ark (28). We only managed one TD in the second half against UK, Bama, LSU, and OM. We did score 13 second half points against aTm and 10 against Northwestern.

You can extrapolate whatever the hell you want from these figures, but Auburn, UT, and Ark all fired coaches at the end of the season.

If you go by quarters in games excluding Troy and Alcorn St., the picture is even more clear...

Average score by quarter:
1st8.8
2nd6.3
3rd2.8
4th1.0

</tbody>

(The South Carolina game was the first time we've scored in the 4th quarter in those games.)

Our average score goes down with each quarter. And it's not even barely. It's noticeable.

Joker Phillips at Kentucky was fired too, like Chizik, Dooley, and Smith.

So, all 4 of our SEC wins were against teams that fired their coach at the end of the year.
