Give me a handful of guys that can throw a ton of ground balls and a bad @SS closer.and getting a real eyeful of what we're up against talent-wise. We bring in 6'0" to 6'4" pitchers throwing mostly mid 80's to lower 90's and these 2 teams bring in 6'5", 6'6", 6'8" hurlers throwing mid 90's to 101/103 and so forth.
Greg Maddux had decent success* and he didn't throw very hard and was maybe 6' tall.and getting a real eyeful of what we're up against talent-wise. We bring in 6'0" to 6'4" pitchers throwing mostly mid 80's to lower 90's and these 2 teams bring in 6'5", 6'6", 6'8" hurlers throwing mid 90's to 101/103 and so forth.
Couch Couch …. A. Pettitte. Hated that guy, but King of ground balls.Give me a handful of guys that can throw a ton of ground balls and a bad @SS closer.
That's what I see too, but the talking heads swear he's a big leaguer already.I'm not sure Kade is even 6 foot and 175. Makes the most though out of his tiny frame. Gotta give him that
Were you born stupid, or did you have to work at being a biatch?and getting a real eyeful of what we're up against talent-wise. We bring in 6'0" to 6'4" pitchers throwing mostly mid 80's to lower 90's and these 2 teams bring in 6'5", 6'6", 6'8" hurlers throwing mid 90's to 101/103 and so forth.
Yes and every athlete is EXACTLY the height and weight they are listed at. And Josh Hubbard is 6 foot as well.Kade Anderson is listed as 6'2. Sometimes this board is like watching CNN.
Exactly. One of the greatest and most unique pitchers who overcame some shortcomings. Don't forget about Drew Brees in football. We just need to make sure we get those unique, amazing one-of-a-kind guys. Well, you do have to coach them up. We had the next Drew Brees in Henig but coaching was the problem. We don't need to notice what winning teams, especially those that regularly make super regionals and CWS, do and who they sign.Greg Maddux had decent success* and he didn't throw very hard and was maybe 6' tall.
I love when people use this example, as if it's anything BUT an extreme outlier. Especially in today's game.Greg Maddux had decent success* and he didn't throw very hard and was maybe 6' tall.
@leeinator has to make up all those years spent on Swan Lake, so he's being overly negative. Got to cut him some slack.Give the man a chance to put his FIRST team together after 22 years at another school He needs a little time to acclimate. He's only been on the job 3 weeks. He has the next 2 months to put a team together from the 1000+ portal entrants. We're already better with a new staff in place. Patience people.
We had a first round and second round Friday and Saturday guy last year. We have plenty of guys that throw mid to high 90s. But that’s still overblown. Kids have caught up to velo.and getting a real eyeful of what we're up against talent-wise. We bring in 6'0" to 6'4" pitchers throwing mostly mid 80's to lower 90's and these 2 teams bring in 6'5", 6'6", 6'8" hurlers throwing mid 90's to 101/103 and so forth.
Look in the mirror and see something worse than my butthole.
As long as I'm ahead of you which is clear I am.Were you born stupid, or did you have to work at being a biatch?
I didn't say that. I said listed. Sure as 17 ain't 6'8. Google is your friend.Yes and every athlete is EXACTLY the height and weight they are listed at. And Josh Hubbard is 6 foot as well.
That's true but you dont have to be Randy Johnson to get outs. Ground balls get outs too if you have a good infield. Maddox was an amazing pitcher, Glavine and Smoltz weren't bad eitherI love when people use this example, as if it's anything BUT an extreme outlier. Especially in today's game.
To deny the effects of pitching velocity is just being a damned idiot.
But his bank account is bigger and harder.and getting a real eyeful of what we're up against talent-wise. We bring in 6'0" to 6'4" pitchers throwing mostly mid 80's to lower 90's and these 2 teams bring in 6'5", 6'6", 6'8" hurlers throwing mid 90's to 101/103 and

Kendall Graveman was a great example of a ground ball pitcher. But guess what - he could gas 90+.That's true but you dont have to be Randy Johnson to get outs. Ground balls get outs too if you have a good infield. Maddox was an amazing pitcher, Glavine and Smoltz weren't bad either
i'm not against velocity, i'm against velocity being the only criteria. must have command of all your pitches and be able to put them exactly where you intend for them to go.I love when people use this example, as if it's anything BUT an extreme outlier. Especially in today's game.
