[QUOTE="Buckaineer, post: 131112555, member: 1428007"] and Back to the subject at hand and away from the usual troll derailing. Adding the CCG has been a critical component to the success of WVUs league. So many OOC trolls tried to influence the decision and tell the BIG 12 fans (who they hoped would take their complaints to BIG 12 leaders) whining that there was no need for any changes, no need for a CCG or anything else. But again, we've seen just how critical this addition has been for WVU's conference. Without it for two or three years running there would be and would have been 0 participation by the BIG 12 in the playoff. The next step is to address the FOOTPRINT of the conference so that more votes will go the BIG 12's way in placement in the playoff. This year as usual, despite having by far the best OOC win % of any conference, BIG 12 schools were artificially held back in the ratings right up until the final game. A larger conference expands the people who push for inclusion and rankings. It allows the teams to win more games. Look at the horrid acc this year--10 teams made bowls despite the poor play--because of three things: A. They skip playing FIVE members each year B. They don't play a round robin C. They play FOUR OOC games, most of which are G5 and/or FCS. Gives Clemson all it needs for high seeding in the playoff. and having a larger conference footprint allowed them to gain a 24/7 channel that is on in many parts of the country and will bring some revenues into that conference.
