I am attending the game. Game won't be pretty. We have an 11:00 kickoff and it will be chilly. When is it too early to start drinking whisky? Asking for a friend

I would go two airplane bottles per stadium cup sprite, one full drink per half. You don't want to get too out of hand.

Depends on the individual. The year Manziel came to Starkville and beat the piss out of us, we played at 11. I started drinking vodka at 8 am and continued through the game. It was a **** show. Dropped my phone in my drink on the ground between my legs and ruined it. Got into an argument with my wife afterwards and jumped out of the car while it was moving, and I’m pretty sure i cried like a ***** on the way home, but have no idea why. I also remember nothing about the game itself except Manziel running around breaking potential sacks and turning it into a TD throw, and I’m pretty sure that’s just an image stuck in my head from watching highlights of him doing that so many times. So now i don’t drink liquor before 10 am.

Ha. Good stuff.

My favorite whisky morning was 2009 Egg Bowl. Ole Miss was a heavy favorite with Snead (RIP) and crew. My group started hammering drinks around 8 that morning. All guys, we decided to leave the women at home for this one. Turns out we were slap dead in the middle of the Ole Miss section. My group all decent sized men amped up on Whiskey rolled up in there. A guy behind us said ‘great’, I replied it’s gonna be a long day for you boys’. Little did I know. We started ringing our bells before the game and never stopped. We kicked their *** up and down the field in the second half. Not sure who emptied out their section. Relf and his boys or the whiskey soaked State fans that never put their bells down the entire game. We were so 17ing obnoxious and it was one of the best times I’ve ever had at a game. Then Mullen rustled their Jimmies after the game. Perfect day.

4 airplane bottles. Buy 1 bottle of water. Buy 1 cup of ice per airplane bottle, distribute 1 bottle of water 8 ways. 1/8 per 1 airplane bottle, 1/8 drank between whiskey drinks. This usually suffices from when I get in until I leave to walk back to tent with about half a drink.

Add more whiskey/water depeding on tolerance/how drunk you want to be.

So you are advocating 4 airplane bottles over an entire game? That's the appropriate amount to drink when we are well coached. In the current situation...I'd suggest two airplane bottles shortly before kickoff, two in the first quarter, and then dose as necessary to keep the pain manageable.

That is just an image stuck in your head. Those of us who were sober can tell you we never got close enough for anything to be considered a “potential sack” that day.
