WVU is tied for 5th place in the Big 12 standings with Oklahoma but is 3rd among Big 12 teams season winning percentage and a 20-10 record playing one of the toughest schedules in the country.

Maybe proof that the Big 12 is a really tough basketball conference? After all, Kansas is #1 and Baylor #4 nationally. That’s one-third of WVU’s Big 12 defeats. So far. Baylor will be in Morgantown at 1 p.m. Saturday.

I don't want WVU out of the Big 12, of course. Just saying that maybe some of the problems are tied to the level of Big 12 competition. Not to excuse the Barney Fife Zombies performances either. But I think we all agree that WVU would finish much higher in the Mid-American Conference.

Is a regular season record in basketball that important.

Much rather scrap by all year and make a Sweet 16 run
Than win 25+ games and be knocked out in the first week.

About finding out what you have.
I do think against certain teams WVU may have to go without a big and use Gabe's length.
I believe he has enough wingspan to protect the rim.
But Oklahoma and teams who space the floor kill WVU. Might need smaller lineups.

A regular season record gets you in the tournament, easier opponents first weekend, and maybe more importantly for a high travel horrible road team like us a better chance at the first weekend being close to home. A run is more important but one can help with the other. I'm sure a San Diego state is happy to have a joke of a conference and get a high seed and never wonder far from home instead of a 6 or 7 seed and travel to cleveland first weekend

20 W's or more per season is important.
Good run in Big 12 tournament or March Madness is important.
Why knock either to promote the other?
Why knock anything about my alma mater unless you're a Pitt or Marshall fan?
I always prefer thumbs-up to the middle finger. But that doesn't seem to be the preference on sports forums.
Thumbs-up people, statistics show, live longer, happier lives. That's why, at 87, I wake up with a smile on my face … and because I woke up again!
