But, But, But, he wasn't ready....and because he didn't win this one single-handed, he's still not ready. **

KT showed some glimpses of greatness and some glimpses of being a freshman, but here's food for thought for everyone.

In his first career start as a true freshman going up against a likely first round bye CFP team, he had a QBR nearly 10 points higher than Shapen's season high against Alcorn St.

He did miss some key throws, but he did have over 350 total yards and two rushing touchdowns. Not bad for a first start against a 11-1 team.

I understand going with Shapen early, but he should have been the guy after the UF loss. The pick should have been the end of Shapen for damn sure.

Our OL got Shapen killed, but it’s clear that KT can make plays with his feet that Shapen can’t. KT can toss it a little too. Sure he’s not the most polished passer in the world, but I have seen make some fantastic throws this year. Get some dawgs on O-Line and let KT run the O

You got some kind of link for that last stat? What I looked at says he didn't exceed a single one of Shapen's 11 starts yesterday.

There's no way any QB rating system should say no TD passes, an interception and under 50% completion percentage is better than the 7 TD passes and 0 interceptions Shapen put up vs ASU and Texas alone.

He's a hell of an athlete with a great future, but it should be obvious to anybody who knows a little bit of football why Shapen started almost all year. That should be even more obvious after seeing his limitations yesterday.

And this is not a praise of Shapen or Lebby. It's just observation.

QBR also includes rushing stats, and takes into account the level of competition as well as situational analytics as far as how well the QB performs vs. expected outcomes at a given down, distance, score, and time on the clock.

All that being said, QBR for one game is essentially worthless. It’s value is largely in its composite application across an entire season.
