It was interesting watching the Gators up by 17 in the 4th with a lot of time left on the clock. They were running the play clock down almost every play trying to limit the time FSU would have to score 3 times. It worked.
Auburn. Although they certainly must have set a record for fumbles, lost and recovered.. and jeeesh the dropped passes, they were in it with a chance to win it in part because they opted for the JWS strategy of “take the points.” They were down by 17 and opted to kick to bring it within 2 scores. And did the same later to make it 17-6.
Certainly we don’t know how the other choice(s) would have turned out as they could have scored a TD, but also they could have run QB and have been stopped in the backfield.
I can’t help but wonder in several of games this year how things would have turned out if we would have managed the game differently.
