And really, no one has that kind of staff at this level. I mentioned it in another thread along these lines that we don't have near what it takes on the mound to build an offense around hoping to get 4 runs and feel comfortable about it. But I don't know who does really especially in the conference. Florida's got a deep pitching staff but heck, even we put their ace out of the game in the 3rd inning. I don't know if it's so much that we are aiming to play small ball as much as it is we are forced to simply because Cohen knows these guys can't hit. We have some decent runners though so by default, small ball is pretty much what we're left with. Put it this way, I'll be disappointed if Cohen is serious about designing a lineup around our ballpark. Surely he just meant that towards this particular team because our park is on average only a few feet larger than some and nearly equal to most other ballparks. He's beat that size of the ballpark horse to death. Look at some dimensions around the conference then look at ours. It's not that much difference with the exception of a couple including Kentucky's cracker jack park. In college baseball, it's my opinion that it's always going to be a hitter's game first. With the new bats, coach's are trying to make it more like the pros but they've got to face it that they still aren't dealing with professional pitchers, they still aren't dealing with professional fielders, and they aren't playing in ballparks as large as most professional stadiums. Hitters are still gonna get hits in the college game that they more than likely wouldn't in the professional game. That's what's so frustrating. Most everybody we play still, even with the new bats, gets that clutch homer in late innings to seal the game while we're too busy seeing if we can draw a walk or get hit by pitch.</p>
