All he's doing is linking what the LA and national media are saying about the situation, which is hardly "digging." I, for one, am interested in seeing what is being said and he's saving me the trouble of looking all over the internet for articles.

With that said, I'm sure the sheep are up in arms about this.

Sidney's story has been well-documented. He even made the New York Times.1

Veazey is simply providing the information to the local audience, which hasn't been done since Sidney was expected to be at USC, a school not normally followed by Mississippians.

1Yes, I know the link is Germans.

is that you've got some people that, at least in my mind, are sort of ill that things didn't work out with USC saying MSU is the "only runner". Now, nobody can tell me that even though USC and UCLA may not be jumping to sign this kid that there aren't plenty of schools that would leap at the chance to sign Sidney if he called them up and said he would sign with them. And a LOT of them would make room for him just like apparently we are. I think this is where its possibly going to pay off for Rick to have finished second runner up so to speak. Sidney would still have plenty of other options if he just wanted to open everything back up again regarding his recruiting.

you cannot convince me if Sidney called Calipari, he wouldn't get an offer.

This is a great signee, but anyone who doesn't think he comes with a lot of major baggage is just hiding from the facts. There haven't been many players ever with more baggage than this kid. Stans is going to have his hands full trying to keep this kid and his father (and handlers) in line. I saw in the LA Times story that Sonny Vaccaro is involved here. He's the godfather of sleazy AAU/"amateur" basketball coaches/handlers/quasi-agents.

You sheep are just looking for a minister of propaganda to report in the C-L. That's what Gene's Page is for.

Veazey has been consistent in maintaining fact-based queries and topics in his blog entries. And as long as the Clarion-Ledger has a columnist in Rick Cleveland who can afford to speculate, Veazey has the luxury to continue to be truthful. Perhaps you can't handle facts.

Yes, he will have options if his dad hasn't screwed that up.
I think he is still immature, (MY GOD he still sucks his thumb!)... I doubt that he was fitting "in" in Calif.
And I just don't think he has the where-withall to go to Europe...without help.

We might be his best option!
