This is very interesting.
First, you're wrong.
In 2009 OM defeated #10 LSU and #19 Oklahoma State. Alongside MSU at #25, that brings the win total to 3, not 2.
It's also interesting because since 2009 OM has been ranked in the top 10, had the worst season in OM history, and began rebuilding the program. Over those same years, MSU has had the most consistent winning seasons in quite sometime and a record breaking quarterback. Yet, OM has managed to defeat more ranked teams than MSU during that same time period.
Also, I've seen a lot more state fans talking about Dan's record than OM fans over the past few days.
ETA: Another thing I just discovered looking at the actual facts. It's commonly purported that the "hasn't beat a ranked team" statistic is skewed because MSU hasn't played top 25 talent, but top 10 talent. In fact, over the past 4 years, OM has faced 16 top 25 teams and, of those, 11 top 10 teams. MSU has faced 15 top 25 teams and, of those, 8 top 10 teams.
