The difference between a pat on the back and a kick in the butt is about 6 inches. If it had worked it would have been the play of the week.<O:p</O:p

Well deserved. Situationally, almost as dumb as it gets.

easily should have been #1. Everyone above us (or is it below us) has at least one redeeming value about their team, nice cheerleaders, their band director makes decent cookies, the coaches wear their hats straight, their field has straight sidelines painted.... that fake punt was an abomination.

That fake punt was definitely bottom 10 worthy. One of the worst ones you'll ever see.

We ran that fake punt the wrong direction. If we ran it to the right he still would have had the option of punting it and it would have been a better throw for a left-hander.

We are not a bottom 10 team but that was a bottom 10 decision....

That was a unanimous #1 as far as I am concerned. Surely, like the LSU game, *** learned a valuable lesson there. I just hope its the last one he has to learn by experience.

It also highlights a questionable day we had on special teams. Yes we forced a TO on kick coverage that lead to a huge TD and downed a punt inside the 1 but then we also had 2 TOs on ST. One on that abominable fake punt and one on the fumbled punt, plus, as was eluded to in the bottom 10 blurb, we distrusted our FG kicking so much that we decided we were more likely to convert on 4th and 8 than make a 43 yard FG. We did convert I know but I still consider that a ST failure.

Can someone tell me why is our HC's initials are censored?......

Just curious. They don't spell anything offensive or dirty. They don't even contain a vowel.

It's probably a push for a punter. I was just thinking about where he ended up throwing the ball and how it floated.

I was hoping when it was obvious a pass wouldn't work that he would punt it still, but it would have been hard.

Punting that ball with his left leg would have been a better option than that fake punt.

I don't have a problem with the call provided you have a reasonable expectation of being able to execute. Running our true freshman backup out there to run a fake to the side that takes away one of the options (the rugby style kick) with a kicker that doesn't have a good arm even for a kicker was just bad. I like going for the jugular and I like doing things with a 21 point lead that will keep future opponents on their toes. If it had been close or if it had worked except that the punter made a bad throw or receiver dropped a catchable ball, that would tell me he was basically correct in seeing a potential advantage even if it was unorthodox to the say the least from a situational perspective.
