I wish this thread didn't have to go the way of "recruiting" violations, etc. but the Millard South Patriots have had
213 tackles for losses over 12 games with the state championship to go. They gave up just 44 points so far shutting
out traditionally good to excellent teams, Lincoln Southeast, Kearney and Millard West. Lots of these guys (including
QB Jet Thomalla) are seniors so next year they should come back to earth.

Best Nebraska H.S. team ever?

why is their qb going to bama and not NU?
what part of recruit millard south is not understood?
I agree. Thomalla is very, very good. Accurate with a strong arm. Pretty darn good at avoiding a pass rush. I hope he becomes a early starter at Bama. After the loss to Oklahoma Saturday, I'm believing Ty Simpson is going to stay at Alabama to take another shot at a National Championship. Therefore, Jett will have a year to learn the bama system.

Although a year behind, I'm guessing Nebraska likes Trae Taylor more. Dayton Raiola may surprise. Correct me if I'm wrong, but Dayton seems to have a strong arm.

One note on Ty Simpson, Mel Kiper had him going 3rd or 4th overall in their last mock draft. But to me after watching him play in the loss to OU, I bet he isn't going to go anywhere close to that high. I bet Simpson goes back for another year of development.

Honestly, very few people care at this point. It's an all star team. Class A football is a sorry state of affairs right now. 2/3 of Class A probably wouldn't be competitive against the top of Class B.

I live in Virginia, and I love Nebraska high school football. Teams like Omaha North and Bellevue West have come down to earth. I expect next year to be competitive.

Competitive how? And in what way? Millard South is in a tier by itself, nobody in the next tier. Then Westside in tier 3. Then a few teams in tier 4. Then another tier of teams that are competitive with each other but would not be competitive against top six Class B or Wahoo. Then the dreaded 6th tier which is really bad, but can blow out 7th tier teams.

Being honest though...Class B isn't very good right now either, and will be even worse next year.

As the NIL goes on throughout all colleges parents will look for ways to get their talented kids in High School programs that can get them to not just D1 schools but schools with healthy budgets. This trickle down theory is being played out all over the country... Down here, our team already had kids moving here just to play for our school because of what it is, now with NIL we have NFL players moving here for their kids to play... It's a case of The haves Vs the Have Nots... I'm not sure what the answer is in states like Nebraska, down here the state is so big there's more competition. Even so, in the first round of playoff our school defeated another 80-12... so it still goes on

Raiolas, TJ & Trae.. Don't think we recruited him much.. Be curious to see how he does when the talent level is equal or at least some what equal

Also hard to tell how good anyone on that team really is with the way the talent is stacked. They never faced adversity, or an equal opponent.

Almost like boys vs girls.

MS is a regional all-star team with players from as far away as Kansas City. No one is impressed
I do not think what is happening is unusual in high school sports in metro areas. In happens all the time in the Puget Sound area. The same high schools go to state year after year. Get a good coach and the players will come. Put a family in a rental home or apartment while the kid is playing sports. In Washington home schooled kids and students that attend small private high schools can play sports and participate in activities at the schools in their school district. Stash a good athlete in a little private school that doesn't play football or basketball and bingo who have a great kid from out of your area playing for your powerhouse team. Don't the Catholic schools in Omaha like Creighton Prep doing really well in sports. All boys O'Dea (Seattle), Eastside Catholic (Sammamish) affluent suburbs, Archbishop Murphy (Everett) and Bellarmine (Tacoma) always have great sports teams. Recruit from all over.

Trae's better than Jett and will be a 5 star by the time he gets here.

Doubt it. He will be lucky if he starts at Alabama next year. Keelon Russell will be ready to take over next year.

Say’s who?
Most pundits to talk about Trae. Plus Trae's stat's blow Jett's out of the water and it's not even close and Trae is a year behind Jett. Most of your big boys have tried to recruit Trae including Bama.

Kind of puts Nebraska high school football in perspective when people are this upset and MS got rocked by that team from Nevada, who I believe has 2 losses on the year.

He's going there to sit on the bench for a few years. JUST KIDDING, JUST KIDDING. It would be something if a Nebraska kid started at QB for them. Of course, that would suck for Nebraska. It will be interesting to see how his career plays out.

Millard South “rocked” the team from Nevada. It was running clock in 1st half.
Would be kind of cool to see high school all star teams put together by region and population. Nebraska would get 1 for 2million people, California would get 25, Have them compete regionally for a national championship. I would watch the 65 Nebraska high school kids play all-star teams from the Dakotas, Kansas, Missouri, Iowa every week. Almost like bringing back real college football again. Maybe kids would "move" to Nebraska for money and we could build a super team, maybe run a unique offense that focuses on power and wearing out the other team, and beat down those entitled california and florida kids.

Nope, MS rocked the team from Nevada. MS ended up having to forfeit the game due to using an ineligible player.

Trae has great stats and is a great player. Pretty similar to Jett’s stats last year. Jett’s stats are down this year because he only plays half of the game and one team forfeited. You should be comparing Jett to Dayton. They are in the same class.

Talent disparity of the opponents would make these not an apples to apples comparison
