Pac10 seems to be B+
Big12 seems to be B+
SEC was A+
Big 10 want to say A, but could be A+

Because as an independent, you can choose your opponents. SEC has an A+ prestige because you play against the best of the best in conference. As an Independent, you can still sell that to recruits because you can basically schedule all SEC teams, USC and Ohio State if you want to, especially on a video game.

a better question is who is doing the ratings in general? I noticed in several recruiting competitions that UM is rated several levels higher thanState in things like television exposure and fan base. I know some ratings move during the season, but I don't believe either of those do, and I haven't finished a full season yet. I don't remember them being that high last year, but I don't have the game anymore to check.
Heck USF has better a television exposure rating than we do.

looks like it has some backing, but not a ton:
UM has an A+ in Campus Lifestyle versus State's B (party school titles?)
B+ in Facilities versus a B (defensible)
B+ in Fan Base versus a C+ (no)
State leads in Stability with a B versus a C+ (Nutt on hot seat?)
UM has a B in Tradition versusa C+ (defensible, although I'll note that the other schools with a B include South Carolina)
UM has a B in Television Exposure versus a C+ (no)

Lending credence to the party school affect on Campus Lifestyle, Wisconsin has an A+, and Alabama has an A. Arguing against it are Indiana with a C+ and South Carolina with an A.

Meanwhile, UM has only 2 stars of prestige, the same as Vandy, and less than the 3 held by State and UK. Definitely questionable. I did get a kick out of UM's list of other rivals: Alabama, Arkansas, LSU, Memphis, Vanderbilt. Okay, I get LSU, maybe even Arkansas and to a lesser extent Memphis. But Alabama? Vandy? If you include Vandy, why isn't Jacksonville State on that list?

to back up or shoot down the statement? Because to me... that looks like a pretty good schedule.

I hate ND as much as the next guy but that is a pretty solid schedule, especially when you compare it to the schedules they've played in the past.

only 3 top 15 teams and only 1 top 10 team on it. We haven't had one that easy at the top in a while. On the other hand, only a couple of really bad teams on it, and none as weak as a couple of our games.

It is about their deal with the BCS. In a way, conference prestige is reflective of tradition. It's been that way on the past 3-5 NCAA games. They are past due for a downgrade though.

when was the last time that any one conference had 5 teams in the top 15 let alone in the same division? I seriously don't know so that's not me asking arhetoricalfor the sole purpose of SEC chest bumping. Only reason I'm saying that is because I'm actually somewhat impressed that they constructed a schedule like that on their own in comparison to ours being more difficult due to association if that makes any sense. <div>

He got that rating from some video where it showed us as a two star.

I agree about the rivals. I understand where Arkansas came from (I think they added that when Nutt came) and definitely get State and LSU. I've always thought it was funny that they consider us and Bama rivals as well. Sure, I want to beat them more than most teams, but that's because we just can't seem to do it. I see the hate between OM and Memphis fans all the time, but I wouldn't consider it a rivalry until we start playing them in basketball and football yearly again. I think they just put Vandy on there because some Vandy consider it a rivalry and they're our permanent team from the east.

Bama was once considered a rivalry game for State....not sure when that was changed. From our perspective, I can definitely see it. Not as much from theirs.
