Really? They could have made a decent run after guys like Charlie Strong, or Jeff Brohm. IU plays a pretty tough schedule, Michigan, OSU, Penn State, etc. they are basically the Big 10 equivelant of us. They could get a decent coaching prospect to consider them.
I was surprised too. He's only been an assistant at the DI level for 5 years, but is from Indiana, coached high school ball there and got his masters at IU. Sounds like the AD loves him.

Sounds like some truth to the allegations. Takes a whole lot to turn twelve mill to five hundred k.

I'd be angry and acting out too if I had to live and work in that God-forsaken meth lab cornfield of a state.
I wonder who was shooting the free throw when knight threw the chair. He is part of history and has a story to tell his grandkids

IU program will go to the toilet. Wilson is the best coach they have had there in a long long time

Sarcasm can be difficult I suppose. :joy:

That's what I was thinking. I can't believe someone seriously thought the poster was being serious.

I mean Herman could join the best conference in the land and play on the Big Ten Network and kick Urban, John, and James asses and win the Big Ten and take Indiana to the college football playoff and a natty title and make them a football school so they can finally win something in the 21st century and stop living in a timewarp from 1987. I was born later that year and to this day believe I cursed the Loosiers b-ball program from ever winning another national title. Herman can make them a FOOTBALL SCHOOL BABY! Take the job Herman! [laughing]

why did IU feel the need to hire a law firm to investigate the program? why, less than a year after a raise and contract extension would Wilson agree to accept a modest $500k buyout when owed much more? why would a new assistant who was coaching HS a couple of years ago be given the HC job on the spot? this smells really bad and has the makings of coverup/keep it quiet all over it.

Sounds like disaster drill time for IU football. Worse, it gives every indication the allegations are true. There's a fine line between being hard disciplined and being stupid cruel. Kinda sounds like this coach stepped over......but promoting a guy from the same staff??????????? Kinda like saying no one at Louisville knew Hurtt was dirty.

For Wilson to have resigned and accepted a buyout for a fraction of what he would have been entitled to if he had been fired tells me that whatever he did, he stepped about 10 miles over the line and he knows it. The truth may never come out, but you can bet your *** it was bad.

Agreed. Otherwise no way he takes such a meager buyout.

Interesting...

if nothing too serious was going on behind the scenes he should have some offers to join a staff...

was a well regarded assistant at Oklahoma, put in 8 good years there under big brother bob, and getting IU to a couple bowls is no small task.
