Anyone have one or have any experience. It’s time for a new vehicle. I’ve always been a Jeep guy, currently in a Gladiator. You can now get the Wrangler with the 392 V8 without having to check every option on the order sheet that makes it somewhat reasonable. It’s certainly an option. I’ve looked seriously at the new Bronco but they seem to be having similar problems with the Ecoboost engines that GM is having in their V8’s so that makes me a little nervous. The Grenedier checks a lot of boxes for me on paper but the nearest dealer is five hours away and that really concerns me. Just curious if anyone has any experience.

Rented one from Hertz on a trip. It’s a cool vehicle, and I would be happy to have one, but still think I’d prefer a Bronco. Lots of quirks, good and bad. The steering takes a bit to get used to. It’s really fun though.

I like the look of the Grenadier and love how they setup the interior with all kinds of switches and buttons. I believe it has a BMW engine, and I've heard the steering is a big thing to get used to. Getting someone to work on it shouldn't be a huge issue but I believe repairs and maintenance are much more expensive than a typical American suv/truck.

Do you do alot of off-roading or trail riding for fun?

Just occasionally off road but I like to go where I want to go when I want to go there. I’ll probably be keeping the Jeep as a tow vehicle behind the Motorhome so it will be the one going to Moab. I love the look of the Grenadier and buttons and switches are a major plus for an old codger.

A friend from college worked for Ineos a few years ago. At the time, he said that even if he had the money, he would never buy one.
At the time, the off-road capability was crap, the rear safety was basically a Nokia phone camera from 2005 taped to the bumper, and the infotainment screen and UI glitched like an 10 year old Amazon Fire tablet.

Hopefully the vehicle is significantly better now.

With fewer than 10,000 sold globally each year, buying one is a hell of a leap to take. Could be fun, if you have the money and view it as a side experience to your actual daily driver.

My 6 year old Gladiator has 45,000 miles on it so a second vehicle isn’t something I desperately need by any means but that vehicle is itching my brain. To top it off the Mrs likes it said that if she was comfortable driving it as an everyday she would probably sell her vehicle.

I had a great European import mechanic in Caledonia Ms of all places. He would work on it and is closer than Atlanta even after we moved.

I'd never heard of the brand and see that it's a British automaker. British vehicles tend to be shop queens, so if the dealer is 5 hours away, I hope you know a good tow trucking company.

If you like having plenty of buttons (so do I), then you can definitely mark the upcoming BMW X5 off of your list. It doesn't even have knobs on the air vents. YOU HAVE TO GO INTO THE MENU ON THE CONSOLE SCREEN TO ADJUST AIR FLOW DIRECTION!!!! That's some of the stupidest **** I've ever heard of.

Was on Nantucket a couple of months ago and saw them everywhere. Fell in love with them and the price is not bad considering what you’re getting. The drawback for me was that the closest dealer is north of Atlanta, and that seems like a vehicle I’d want the dealership working on.

If the guys who make cars all the time can't seem to figure reliability out, I'm generally skeptical new companies attempting to do so, especially at nearly $100k. I'm a Ford guy and I wouldn't buy anything that they currently offer but a diesel or Coyote. They've somehow taken all of the progress they made on the V6 turbos and gone backwards with these new ones, Toyota has decided that they don't know how to make engines any longer for the Tundra, Dodge has always been a reliability tragedy...it's making it really easy to keep driving my current F150...

They are manufactured in England but all the mechanicals are BMW. I guess that’s better, I don’t know. Some oil exploration billionaire is building them because the original Range Rover that his company used in Africa and elsewhere was discontinued years ago. You’d think that they would be built for reliability.

Then 5 hours from a dealer and they would be the only source of routine or any other kind of maintenance. Plus, it has BMW parts which always require high maintenance. They last a long time but must be maintained and it's expensive.

I personally would not want that price tag that comes with the hassle or extra expense for maintenance. If you don't mind the $$$ and inconvenience of a distant dealership, go for it, just be aware what you will have to do.

It is a nice Ride.

I’ve had mine a year. I have the field master and use as a daily driver. I love it. Now there are some things to be aware of

the seats don’t have great lumbar support
It rides rough. ….ive had jeeps. It rougher I could go with a softer tire

Steering is a non issue. I had steering stabilizer changed out and now it centers 90%. The new 2026s have a bigger steering pump that should help. It’s great up to about 75 on highway then there is a little sway (I’ve noticed it when I jump in the left hand lane to slow folks down )

turning radius isn’t great but you can change the steering stops to improve

you can buy any accessory from lights to star link mounts for them

it’s got some quirks like the instrument panel is in the middle but I quickly got used to that and now like it better than traditional placement

And it’s made in France in the old smart car plant of Daimlers. I’ve only had a minor seal leak and it was easy repair for dealer. My dealer is in Nashville and I’m in Memphis but they are adding service vans for remote cities ..maybe yours does the same so it might not be an issue.

Get it it’s only money you can make more and you only live once

I ordered one for my wife when they first came out, she's been driving it as her daily for almost two years and loves it. She doesn't do a ton of driving (~2,500 miles a year), and it's all around town within a 2-3 mile radius. I drive it occasionally and it's a fun car to drive. The steering does take getting used to, you have to actually drive it and it is not very luxe. I ask her every few months if she wants something else but she isn't interested in anything else on the market. I've had no mechanical issues with it whatsoever but there is a dealership a few miles from my house if something pops up. I did have to replace the windshield due to a rock from another car and that was not inexpensive. Ultimatley, I wouldn't trade my daily driver for hers and we don't use her car for road trips but if you're looking for a head turner / conversation piece or even just a tool around truck I'd say go for it.
