The same guy that told me Doug Buckles would be a Rebel long before it broke anywhere else. This guy and his father are connected and I've always received spot on information from him, as much about State as Ole Miss.

1. Steve Spurrier is visiting with Tyler Russell tonight at his home.
2. Rebs hope Russell goes to Bama because this likely shifts some other QB leaning to Bama away and to Ole Miss. I forget the name of the QB. Ole Miss has never been in the running for Russell.
3. Thames will be a Bulldog regardless. My friend says much has been done to dissuade him but he is a Dawg.
4. Patterson is likely a Rebel. Would take a Petersen-type hire to make much difference. And we were not going to get him if Croom stayed.
5. Bumphis will go to Bama or Ole Miss. Reportedly, he is sold on the wild rebel package.

Much of this may be widely known, but I thought I'd share something from what I deem to be a credible source.

The QB commit he was talking about is AJ McCarron. He's visited us, but he's still committed to Bama. It sounds to me like he wants to go to Bama, but he wants to make sure he is their top priority.

Thanks for the info. My friend says they're confident they'll get him if Russell goes to Bama.

they have deep pockets over there, and if Russell is a high enough priority, they will do all they can to make it happen. So is the way of Bama.

I hope you're right.
My friend went further to say that they like Thames and Bumphis both more than Patterson. He suggested that alot of effort has gone into recruiting Thames but it simply wasn't happening for them.

Patterson is widely regarded as the best WR in the state. Bumphis may give him a run for his money on some peoples boards but not many.

And Bruiser, go back to nafoom with your crazy.

If you play for Spurrier, you may have a record breaking college career, but you will have no future in the NFL.

If Kevin Wilson Is our man, then Tyler will have the same coach as the kid who should win the Heisman this year.

Now if that doesn't make him happy i would be very surprised. I think I read that Coach Wilson is also the QB coach at OU so I am sure he can really help TR progress.

Northwestern and Miami (O). He has never really been credited with much in the way of QB development, but he is a damn good RB coach and clearly knows how to run an offense.

1. Tyler will not go to USC even SS coming to his home will not make a difference.
2. Tyler will be in maroon and white next season see #1.
3. Thames has been a Dawg for quite some time now.
4. <17> Patterson
5. Like the other poster said no way in hell Bumphis goes to OM. Bumphis will either go to Bama, Florida, or State. Sorry rebs.

I understand if you are a running back, but the kid said himself that he wants to throw it. Hell Julio Jones should have gone to FL, OK, TT, and he would have been a Heisman candidate. Hell I have never understood why the kid commited to Croom and the WCO after seeing him play. He belongs in a spread offense.

He is either Bama or OM, I promise you. An LSU offer may grab his attention, but he isn't going to State. You screwed that one up already.

No one has a clue on Bumphis, he could be going anywhere. He tells so many people so many different things.

Thames is going to State. Norwood wants to go to Bama, but may not have a spot, and could end up at OM by default. I think Cox and Boyd stick with State.

Isn't Tyler in Mobile? So can't visit him in his home. Also, coaches are verbotten to have anything to do with the players, including even being at the game.

So I call a very large BS

......or Bama where he ends up, hopefully MSU. We better damn well hope it's MSU anyway. With Carroll gone, all we have is Lee and Relf. That's some scary ****. The door is WIDE open for Russell, and the new coach must make him his first recruiting priority.

Patterson has told MANY people that if we hired a offensive coach we would be back in it. It don't get much more Offensive than Wilson. And Bumphis....to use your words...you screwed that one up already. Florida and Bama are his top two. Have been for months. You think Nutt is going to out recruit Saban and Meyer? Please....

Bumphis had to get a new phone because of all of the calls he was getting and one of the only people he gave his new number to was P. Harvin. I know this for a fact.

In all honesty I would put a TON of money that these guys go out of state. Everybody knows Nutt is a lazy recruiter, and without a working head coach until the new year they will get snatched up I assume.

What are you going to do brag to them about you 3 national championships? I hope they ask how many are recognized by the NCAA.......

Patterson committed to MSU, then backed out when he saw that Crxxm's wins in 2007 was a fluke and now won't even consider us no matter who we hire? Was he THAT big of a Crxxm fan when he committed?

has the worst football team in the SEC. Nutt is a lazy recruiter? You've been hanging out with the Hogville crowd too long. He must be the luckiest lazy recruiter in the world considering all the success he has had. And no I don't pay attention to stupid *** star rankings on scout.

Give me a break bonedick. It doesn't matter who you hire, he will not be better than Houston Nutt, but you keep livin' the dream. None of you have any idea where Bumphis is going and I call BS on his momma saying he won't go to OM. I guess he was just killing time by going over there 4-5 times during the season. I mean ****, he could have just as easily driven to Bama or State for the weekend. Now am I saying he is headed to OM? Of course not, I have not idea where this kid wants to go to college, probably FL though distance may be an issue, but if it's not OM, it's not because he and momma have some sort of dislike towards them. You guys make **** up just to feel good about yourselves.

I was simply relaying information. Never claimed it to be fact. A guy who has given me consistent good information in the past told me what I shared here.

You talk some strong **** about our football team for a guy whose football team is a year removed from being the worst in the SEC(0-8). Hell, at least our worst in the league team found a way to win 2 this year. Thats 2 more than your team won in the league a year ago.

And I would be willing to bet you didn't think Nutt was the **** a year ago.

2 weeks before the croom 'resignation' i was told bumphis would be a dog, i was also told it had nothing to do with croom or any of the staff and this was told ahead of the 'resignation' also (it has to do with his mother, cant go into detail and tyler russell). the person who told me this is extremely well connected and has been for a long time. i told him he was not necessarily wrong but no matter what his mother cant make the decision for him, i dont believe itll happen but this person has been telling me lots of big news for years and years and usually is very accurate so i thought id share
