I tried looking this up on the BC page, but didn't find anything clear.

I want to look into upgrading my season tickets this year. I've been in the BC for two years (low $ donor - I'm not Rick James, bitches) and have had nose bleed season tickets for 3 seasons. However, they were bulk purchased on a friend's account - so I received no credit (if they even give out credit for those tickets).

Anyhow, I'm not looking for prime real estate, just something in in the lower deck. The view from up top is fine, but you miss out on a lot of the crowd noise - which I miss. Plus, I want to start building more BC credit for the future when I might actually have more discretionary cash to play with.

Can somebody give me a dumbed down version of what donations are required, estimates of how much the tickets are, what lists I need to get on, and timing? Again, I looked for something online - but my searching skills failed me - the only football content on the BC site right now is gator bowl t-shirt stuff...

I'm sure this is simple general knowledge amongst most, but I've never asked or paid attention...

This is what you need I believe.<div>
</div><div>http://www.mstateathletics.com/fls/16800/pdf/ad_bcpolicymanual_032910.pdf?&DB_OEM_ID=16800</div><div>
</div><div>Several pages into it it shows the prices per seat, however some of those prices are going up next season so you really can't trust that, but it will give you an idea. I can't remember the ticket prices last season but I think they were around $250 per season ticket, maybe a little less than that. I wouldn't be surprised to see those go up either next season.</div>

I'd probably email Luanne Laird, Bulldog Club Operations Coordinator if I had any more questions.

[email protected]

I'm not completely sure she is the right contact, but its my best guess.

Just because you are willing to pay the required donation per seat, it doesn't mean that you are going to be able to get a seat in that section. Don't decide "Hey, I'll donate $1500 and get two chairbacks on the west side." In fact, I'm not sure what options you're going to have at all on the west side lower level. In years past, it was no problem getting seats moved around in Section F, more so difficult further in, and almost impossible in Section D. Now, Sections C, D, and E are pretty locked down, and I wasn't able to get an extra seat in F last year either.

Once you decide what you want, call Bart or Mike. They should be able to give you an opinion on the likelihood of getting what you want. As I said though, expect to not have many options.

I'm in the top 20% of BC, been giving for a long time. I give well over the minimum and have for years. No way to crack into section D. I request an improvement every year, my seats remain the same. I've often wondered if there isn't something going on behind the scenes.

as long as they donate enough to sit in Section D and pay the seat licenses, you won't move over them unless they stop donating the amount needed to sit in that section.

Well, until they reseat the entire stadium ala The Hump a few years back, which I anticipate to happen to Davis Wade in maybe three more years.

Based on the way that they're doing it now, you could in theory have donated ten times the lifetime amount of a fellow Bulldog Club member. However, if they started sitting in section D in 1974 and they've renewed every year while making the minimum pledge, they still trump you. This is really odd to me because it seems abundantly clear that MSU is all about the dollar on the basketball side of things, but then we're more about loyalty to fans or whatever you want to call it on the football side. Considering the amount of money that football is capable of generating, that seems completely backwards to me.

I don't know if this helps at all, but I've continuously donated to the BC through the years and I was able to get solid section E tickets when I was around #1400 in ranking. It wasn't until last year when I shot up to around #500 when I finally got section D tickets. Of course, a lot of it has to do with how many tickets you're trying to get also. I always get 10 because I manage this for my whole family, but if you only needed 2, you wouldn't need that high of a ranking. If you want to play with the numbers, there's a cool claculator on Mstateathletics.com in your Dog Tag account that will project a ranking based on how much money you give this year. It's interesting to mess around with it.

On a final note, I was laughed at when I asked about chairback seats so you can probably all but forget those. Those MFers won't ever give them up, and they'll probably pass them down to family when they die so you may as well not even waste your time with them.

I cant wait for expansion. I want club level seats... Ill happily take them in the endzone (for now). I don't care what the expansion looks look as long as it has a hefty number of club level seats to buy.

I took the survey indicating I would be interested...I'd still love to have them.

But with the new premium (forgot how much it was) for the first 5 years, I've resigned to the fact I'll never get them. Damnit.

Edit: To go one step further, I'm probably the only person in the stadium that hasn't watched a game from the Club level. I know tons of people that aren't BC members, or give the minimum, and somehow someone hooks them up with Club level seats at least once a season.

I'm the Billy Ray Valentine to Porkchop's Louis Winthorpe III.

What happened to Porkchop anyway?

"well yes you rank higher, but we don't want to break up groups that have sat with each other for years"

But I want to be. The new endzone needs to be full of CL seating and then they need to refurb the west side to include CL seating.

A couple of years ago, I was giving enough to 'buy' 3 club level seats, was ranked in the 2100's and was stuck on row 20 at the 19 yard line. Until they re-seat the stadium, they can count on $100 a year from me. This will tick off some people but I think each member should be limited to a max of 4 tickets.

Even if it puts me at a disadvantage, I don't believe in limiting everyone to 4 tickets. I agree with the limits already in place. I just need to become friends with rich old people.

What they need to do is base seating priority on Bulldong Club points per seat requested. For instance, if I have 1,000 points and want 2 seats, that's 500 points per seat. If you want 6 seats, you'd have to have 3,000 points to get the same priority as me. This would stop people from leeching off their friend's points and force them to start giving themselves, and also wouldn't penalize people with large families by forcing them to split up.

It wouldn't really change anything.

Unless you're suggesting reseating the entire stadium every year.

30,000 season tickets to reseat every year. Basketball is already a cluster.

Edit to say that cluster is too strong of a word. It's more of not the smoothest of operations.

The fans shouldn't be involved at all except that there should be a line on the season ticket form for any seating requests. The staff would just assign everyone to the best available seats giving consideration to any requests on the ticket form. When they first announced that "pick your own seat" process, my thought was WTF are they even trying to do this for? </p>

Bingo! Right now I'm torn between upping my donation to what it used to be or staying at $100 and giving a cigar boy I know the money for two tickets which are guarenteed club level. If they want the Bulldog Club to grow, the way to do it is to stop the leeching.

What other events do you pick your exact seats for? If there's a place on the form for me to make any special requests, the staff can pick the exact seats about as well as I could anyway, and they could do it in about a minute vs. 10-15 minutes to meet me, show me around, and let me pick pretty much the same seats they would have anyway.

Have something like a reset of the seating priorities every 3 years or so. The first year you could have an open reseat of the stadium. Then three years from now, average what folks donated to actually get the seats over the term and then make that the minimum donation. The ones that don't meet the donation get dropped to a lower priority. Three years later. Average again. Rinse. Repeat.

Make it where it could average up or down in case.... God forbid.... There is another croom type error down the road.

Every airline lets you. Just went to New York and saw two events on Broadway - both let me pick seats. Auburn let season ticekt holders pick seats in the new arena. This is not a crazy concept. It gives people control, and most people love control.
